Around 3 years ago I saw a post here on the Dis about heavily discounted magazines. I went on the website (don't remember name) and signed my husband up for 3 years of "Automobile" and "Motor Trend" magazines. I believe they were only $12/year. The subscription is about to expire. Does anyone know the website to get these magazines? Maybe it was some sort of Groupon?

I also signed up for "Star" magazine and "US" at a heavily discounted rate. Not sure where but I believe it was around the holidays.

Any help would be appreciated:thumbsup2

I've gotten US weekly through living social and groupon. I've also found good prices at magazines.com and discountmags.com.

I agree that Amazon has a lot of $5 deals. Maybe try a search on Slickdeals and see if anything comes up for the ones you're interested in.

If you don't find a great deal on the ones you want to renew, let them expire...I have rarely had a magazine actually stop sending me a subscription after the expiration date, they just keep coming for years to come. LOL Better Homes and Gardens is the main one -- I bought a $3 subscription at least 5 years ago and never renewed or anything and it just kept coming up until last year when we moved (I didn't update my address with them).

There should be deals on the various magazine selling sites around Black Friday, if not earlier.

I picked up a year of Seventeen for DD a few weeks ago for just $4 via a Groupon deal and coupon.

I get all my magazines for free on fatwallet.com check it out under the free forum

We have used magazines.com without any problems. Easy process, lots of $5 subscriptions and NO auto-renewal.

If you have frequent flyer miles that go unused, you can apply toward magazine subscriptions at Mags for Miles. I love using miles on airlines I never fly enough to get a free flight to get magazines and newspapers for free. Not all magazines are offered, but there are some pretty good ones as well as newspapers depending on your zip code.

Check out RecycleBank.com. You can earn points on there for watching slide shows, taking some short 4 or 5 question quizzes, and a few other very quick activities. Then you can redeem points for several different magazine subscriptions. I've gifted Real Simple, Good Houskeeping, Redbook, Seventeen, and People this way....absolutely free!

I've been using discountmags.com for the last few years. I wait for deals to pop up on slickdeals.net and then use the coupon codes I find there to get the magazines we want from discountmags.com. Otherwise, I have used Amazon when they have good deals.
