Hi there,
The person who was supposed to drive us to the airport has backed out. We live in PA but flying out of Newark, NJ. I'm wondering if we should park long term (10 days) or park at a friends house in a nearby town and take a taxi to the airport (leaving our car at the friend's house the whole time). Help! Anyone out there know of a reputable place to park the car or taxi? Thanks!

Any chance you can take the train from Philadelphia or your friend's home? You can get off at Newark airport rail station and take a tram to the airport.

If you have a morning flight, check some of the hotels around the airport. Many airport area hotels will sell you a room at a reasonable price and include between one and two weeks parking for no additional charges.

We used to do this often at Dulles Airport, spend the night at the hotel and have the hotel's shuttle take us to the terminal. On the way back very often the hotel shuttle would just drop us off at our car.

I saw a company that did this called Stay123 and offers a choice of 3 hotels in the area. Was that the company you used? Are they reputable? You stay one night and get up to 2 weeks of free parking.

We parked at a hotel that provided us w/ a shuttle to & from the airport. It was the cheapest place we could find to park & we were quite happy w/ it. Let me check w/ DH on name of hotel & price for you.:)

We lived in Milford, PA for a few years and always took a town car service to Newark....long time parking at Newark is a nightmare and budget at least an extra hour dealing with it, depending the length of your trip it may almost work out to be the same price....if not I would take the PP's advice and do the shuttle from a nearby hotel and park there...the one and only time we did LT parking at Newark I thought my DH was going to kill me before we got on the plane !:lmao:

Since moving to central Jersey, when we now fly out of Newark, we park at a friend's home and take a taxi from there. They live very close by so the fare is about $20. Parking at the airport is expensive.

That's what I would love to do but there are 6 of us (4 are kids) and we'll have a lot of luggage so we'd need more than a car. And then the price for a minivan taxi starts to get up there.:scared1:
