Okay, so am almost booking our extra trip to DLRP for the Summer. We are camping in the Netherlands so as we are going to be over that side of the channel anyway, it would be rude not to pop in to say Hi to Mickey, wouldn't it?
I've got a price to stay at Explorers for 2 nights with 3 day passes. The last of the three days we will have to make a fleeting visit as we have our crossing mid afternoon from Calais. So we can make the most of the other 2 days I think we need to spend the night before we arrive (does that make sense LOL?) fairly near to DLRP, rather than in a tent in Holland!! Plan of action is to leave Holland the day before, drive up to somewhere near DLRP and overnight in a cheapy hotel, then drive to Explorers first thing the next day, pick up our passes and have a full 2 days in the parks. (I'm not paying Disney hotel prices for an overnighter only - Explorers wanted E199 for the night which is a bit steep IMO for bed and breakfast)
So, any recommendations for a cheap but clean hotel in the area? We've stayed in Formule 1's and the like before, and they seem fine, it's only for somewhere to sleep as we'll be out bright and early in the morning.
