What's the best cheap gas station that is near WDW property? The Hess stations on property always seem to be at least 5-10 cents more expensive per gallon, but perhaps I'm remembering incorrectly.

Well I just looked on gasbuddy.com and used the city lake buena vista - which if you did not know is the city that WDW is located in. The top 3 cheapest gas stations are the Hess stations located by WDW all 3 have gas prices listed at $3.75 within the last 24 hours.

We have always found that the Hess stations have the better gas prices.

I was going to comment that Hess is usually cheaper than all the others.

The only stations that are typically cheaper than the 3 Hess stations on-property are the gas stations on SR 535 just over the Orange/Osceola County line. One is another Hess station, the other is a Murphy USA/Wal-Mart station.

Good answer, KingBob. In my opinion, there are no "cheap" gas stations near WDW property. As others have posted, the Hess stations on property are very competitive in price. In returning rental cars to MCO, many posters have said that they just fill up at the Hess stations on property and then return the cars to the airport.

The Racetrac station on I92 east of I-4 is quite cheap. Technically it is within 5 miles of WDW (the entrance on 192) but at today's gas prices, it is usually not worthwhile to go out of your way more than half a mile to find a cheaper gas station.

The Hess stations on property are usually a few cents cheaper than off property because CMs don't get discounts on gas & that's how they make up for it by not over charging

Go with the Hess stations, they're among the cheapest in the area. One thing to watch out for is the station on 535 right outside the Hotel Plaza blvd Disney entrance.I think it's either a Mobil or Exxon,I'm not quite sure but about 5 years ago if the gas in the Hess stations was 2.15 a gallon this station had their gas at like 3.05,then at some point like maybe 3 years ago they just stopped posting their prices, they may be at the pump but I've never bothered to check, right now with the Hess stations at 3.75 this station is probably charging $5/gal.On another thread about this topic awhile back someone said this station pays a lot more in taxes for some reason, I've also heard a law might make it illegal to not post the prices outside.

The Hess Stations on property are actually really good.
They always beat my town of Titusville to the east of Disney.

There was a time when those stations cost a premium for anything.
Now you can even get a fresh large pizza for 6 bucks. Remember that if your staying on property and have a car. Great deal for the teenage kids to eat in the room while you take your wife out to a nice restaurant :)

1. They might have had to pay more for the land at that location because that location is considered very desirable. A piece of land with a higher value has a higher property tax.
2. That station might have rented the land and happened to get stuck with an unfavorable lease.
3. A lot of customers are in a rush as they pass that location and the station can get away with charging a higher price.

If the price is not posted in a way you can see it from the road, feel free to drive in and look at the pump. Then drive back out without buying anything if you don't like the price.

That's not true. In several cities in Texas, they don't post the super unleaded prices at more than half the stations so I have no idea who told you that.

Texas is a mighty far distance from Florida. For that Matter, in Ontario they ONLY post the Regular Gas prices as well. Thats not going to stop the State or Municiple gov't from passing a state or local by law which requires a sign to be posted visible from the road with the price of gas.

The streetside posting of prices of different grades of gasoline is usually dictated by state/local laws, so this practice will vary from state to state.
