hi everyone, I'm new to this board and relatively new to Disney (only been once in 2007). I'm planning a trip in May 09 and looking for flights. We would prefer to fly out of Toronto but can't seem to find decent prices, checked Buffalo and the flights I found all seem to be on Fridays. Is it cheaper to travel Fri-Fri rather than Sat-Sat and does anyone know the best way to get a cheap flight? Should I hold off until closer or book now?

It is usually less expensive to fly during the week.

Check expedia.ca and travelocity.ca

You will find Canadian prices and all taxes are included.

No advice on when to book other than how flexible are your dates.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are always the cheapest days to travel. Book after Christmas as prices will drop then:thumbsup2

Best prices from Toronto that we could find were on Sunwing. I know some people on the DISboards believe they are heading for financial ruin and should be avoided, but the airline came highly recommended by both our travel agent and our Disney specialist :confused3 .

We paid $1000 all taxes & fees included for 3 people for our January trip. We booked in August. That same flight would cost us almost $400 more if booked now.

Sunwing flies out every day of the week (if I remember correctly). I also think that all flights are direct. Not much choice of times, though....I think there was only one flight per day each way.

And apparently they feed you en route too. Movies & music for each seat as well (so I'm told :) ).

Might be an airline to consider.

If you are close enough I would suggest flying jetblue or southwest out of buffalo. If you find a direct flight for $100 grab it. Jetblue is great. Even get to watch TV inflight. I found there was a little more legroom as well.:goodvibes

WestJet has a seat sale on now, TO to MCO for May. They seem to be on Weekdays. Sat and Sun are more.

I just booked flights for March with Air Canada. They were less than Travelocity.ca or expedia.ca

We just went through the flight Dilemma for our January 16th departure trip.
We paid $627 US for the 3 of us to fly out of Buffalo to Orlando in April. I have been watching direct flights and the price is still in the $800 US range....maybe cause its the start of MLK weekend as well...
Oddly enough It is cheaper to fly from Toronto to Orlando .
I have NEVER found it cheaper. That is why we usually fly from Buffalo

BUT........
We ended up going on Air Canada's Website directly, instead of Expedia cause they charge a booking fee.

We are so amazed we booked our flight this weekend for the 3 of us Jan 16th departure for $778 CANADIAN !!!!!! 2 checked bags for free per person as well!!!!!

check them out! As well Sunwing

the 3 of us could book for $990 Canadian for 1 week in may..fri-fri!
on air canada..just checked pricing
not a bad price for it being so far away! and that was Tango Plus booking, tango is cheaper!

thanks so much for all the help, looks like I've got some hunting to do online. I will definitely try AirCanada, I did see a GREAT deal if anyone else is interested with Tango plus, $99 each way but it was Thurs-Thurs. We need Sat-Sat. With three small kids, I'd really prefer Toronto but if Buffalo is going to be way cheaper then we'll have to do it. Will check out Southwest and sunwing....and AirTran....thanks!

Keep in mind that Airtran is known to change flight times frequently and charges $15 per checked bag...each way!
Keep watching. Don't book yet way to early!
Check
Air Canada
Sunwing
Air Transat
Northwest airline (They charge for bags as well)

Out of buffalo
Southwest, Airtran and Jetblue

Judge then!

Air Canada has a 50% off sale starting today through December 22 for travel to US and Canadian destinations from December 15 through November 30, 2009 with a blackout for Christmas. This is a great deal!

Westjet is having a 50% off today. We booked with westjet and ended up cheaper than Air Canada by $100.:thumbsup2

Congrats for saving...$100 save is $100 more for spending....:goodvibes

We booked Tango both ways for $99 each way Leave Friday come home on the following Saturday. just check everyday cause they usually have a limited amount of Tango seats each day....you can see no Tango seats one day then the next morning they have some more posted!

:cool1: Booked yesterday with Airtran out of Pittsburgh like 2 years ago and got non stop flights for a total of $335.00US for the 5 of us. Flights were $48.00 less $25.00 off coupon.

We used tripcentral.ca and are flying Ottawa-Orlando direct via Westjet for $1132 all inclusive (Cdn). That is for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 4 and 6). I watched flights for a while - tripcentral got me a better price than booking with Westjet directly (even on a 50% off seat sale).

Good luck!
