In case anyone may be looking for one...I just noticed that Air Transat has charter flights (they use Canjet) they are selling off for Feb 5-12 at $94 each way. For a family of 3 it is less than $900 return in total. Great times too.....leave 9:00 AM arrive around 11:00....leave Orlando after 1 Pm arrive before 5 Pm. We are still waiting on our sons passport, but I thought I'd pass it on to anyone else thinking of going.

I'm quite interested in hearing some reviews about this flight. We're taking the May 6th direct flight using Transat/CanJet.. and I'm really hoping we preclear in Halifax! When I was at the airport this weekend it didn't mention anything about Transat passengers having to go up to the new preclearance section. Here's hoping!!!

My son and I have direct flights with West Jet this year ($924.00 total).
Last year we flew Can Jet and it just makes me shudder thinking about it.
It was the first time we flew CanJet and it will be the only time. The two main things that bothered me about the flights were rude flight attendants (1 per flight) and at the Orlando airport when we were leaving, none of them seemed to know what they were supposed to be doing, there was much more. It's just like any other airline, you get good ones and bad - it was just our bad luck to get bad flights both ways.

I didn't know WestJet went direct. What dates? I'm hoping that CanJet employees will be happy on our flight since that means they get to work. ;)

We fly down April 25 at around 9:45 am and return May 2 leaving Orlando around 1:00. Good luck with CanJet, maybe our flights were just on bad days for them.

We flew Canjet in Dec 2005 from Halifax and I give them nothing but praise. That was back when they were still running scheduled flights. We actually flew from Newfoundland to Halifax, then Halifax to Orlando, and then the trip in reverse. We all enjoyed the fast service on the plane and in the different terminals.(Deer Lake, Halifax, Ottawa, Orlando). Just as a sidenote...the same flight is now down to $79 each way.

Hi,

do you mean that the $79 flight is only for those dates in feb/07?

We are going in april too ( we will probably be on the same flight with bonco coming back on may 2 - where are you from btw?).

anyway, we paid more than that although we booked it about 3 weeks ago and we still do have a pretty good price. But not as good as $900 for 3 people. Is that the real cost or before taxes and fees?

TIA

Hey Boncho--we are also flying on the 9:45 flight on April 25! I was thrilled to see a direct flight from Halifax. Hopefully, we will clear customs in Halifax and can relax for the trip down. We flew Continental two years ago and cleared customs in Halifax upon our return. I had no idea that we were able to do that (I was insisting on picking up my luggage in Newark to clear but the gentleman at the desk said that we would clear in Halifax, and he was right!!)

We had originally planned to fly on the later flight, with a change in Toronto, getting us into Orlando at 10:30 p.m. This is so much quicker! We are flying back on May 5 and it isn't great at all. It is still Westjet but we leave Orlando at 7 a.m., and we are in Toronto for about 8 hours before we fly to Halifax, arriving at 8 p.m. We are using Airmiles so we have to stay with Westjet. We had been booked on a flight leaving Orlando at 2:30 p.m. but they apparently cancelled that flight, so now we have to leave at 7 a.m.:sad2: I hate early flights! Have a great time!

Hey dolphinmon and Splashmom! We live in Truro and we are staying at Pop Century. Where are you guys from and where are you staying? The $924.00 includes taxes but that is just for me and my son, hubby stays home and looks after our dog and the house as he's not into Disney - so we go and have a good time and he has some peace and quiet at home - it works out for all of us. Maybe we'll see you there.

Hi fellow Truronian! :) Can't believe someone's not into Disney! AHH! Enjoy your trip!

What web-site are you using to book these? I was on Air Transat . com and could not find these flights.

Thanks for any and all help.

Hi there,

I am from Baddeck. We are taking the 6:15 am flight from Halifax on April22. Then we fly back on the 1:50 pm flight from Orlando.

We are staying at Coronado Springs. We stayed off site last time and rented a car but I was a nervous wreck driving on those highways. Everybody drove so flippin' fast and pretty much every day there was an accident at some point between our house and Disney.

Anyway, this time we are staying on site and taking the bus.

One of my co-workers' son used to play on the Truro Bearcats hockey team and billeted in Truro but I forget the name of his billets.

Anyway, maybe we will see you in Disney sometime.

Hey boncho and dolphinmom! We are from Sydney and are travelling down on April 25. We are also staying at Pop! This is our fourth time at Pop and we love it. We have stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Universal and the Animal Kingdom Lodge but Pop is really our favorite. I'll be keeping my eyes open for fellow Nova Scotians!! Have a great trip!

We are flying down for our Disneymoon April 23-May 7 using Canjet as well. We are both from Halifax and are staying at POP Century as well. My DW is originally from Truro. WHat a small world. Look forward to seeing some fellow Nova Scotians in Disneyworld. Or even at POP for that matter. This is going to be our first trip there. Can't wait.:cool1:

Hi Splashmom!!

We too are from Sydney. Nice to see someone else from Cape Breton. Let's hope we start to see some decent prices from Halifax soon. We just came back on January 11th and had a great 2 weeks at DW. Where in Sydney do you live??

Let's all keep our eyes open for some good flights and prices.
Joan

Fellow Nova Scotians, Rainbowmist and dolphin mom, I am about 1/2 hour from Truro, but work in Town. Isn't this too cool a site. I get a lot of good info here.
