The last time we went to Orlando (May 2003) we made a big mistake of going food shopping and spent about $350 on food and other things for the week we were there (very sad). I don't want to do this the next time we go so my question is...please tell me about some places where they have good food with great prices. It's just myself, my DH and my DD going.

This will be our 2nd time going to Orlando. I noticed that there are lots of places to go and see and to eat but we don't go hunting much on vacation. Help!

Thanks!

CiCi's Pizza on Palm Parkway (around the corner from DTD) offers an all you can eat pizza buffet for $3.99. Golden Corral always has 10% off coupons in the Orlando Entertainment books (can even be found in the lobby of Golden Corral) for their buffet (good breafkast!!). Sweet Tomatoes on International Dr. isn't a horrible price ($7 a person for dinner).

Sounds stupid -- but the food is decent and cheaper. Try the Hess (gas station!!) on highway 535. On certain days they offer a good deal on pizza.
I think it is Blimpie's sandwiches and Godfather's pizza they make there. On Sundays the pizza is even on sale. Forget the exact prices, but it is pretty cheap. And best of all, pretty decent. (I think it is a LARGE -- as in huge -- cheese pizza for $6 on sale. And I think a dozen wings with that was only $4 extra.)
Various Hess' offer specials, on specific days. The one here in town offers the same special on days other than Sunday.
Even their chicken wings are not too bad. Not the best ever. But DH says he has had a lot worse! :) And he is particular. He never minded a cheap meal of pizza and wings from there. :)
Quick, convenient, friendly staff, easy in and out, cheap by WDW standards.

The Pizzeria Uno has a great lunch special (weekdays only) that includes a personal pizza and a salad for about $6. We don't have one in our town, so this is a real treat for our family when we are in Florida. (Younger kids can easily share one between 2 kids.)

It's located just off Disney property, across from the entrance to Downtown Disney.

If you like Chinese food, New York China Buffet was an excellent deal (around $6.50 for lunch). It is located near Palm Parkway and the Winn Dixie not far from Crossroads.

I loved Sweet Tomatoes by Universal. Great salad and OK pastas and soups with good frozen yogurt.

The take out window at Bongos at Downtown Disney offers really cheap finger food (empanadas for around $1.50 each).

Sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich are a bargain at $5 each.

Think about ordering quick and casual vouchers from Hotwire. For $11.50, you can split a great double cheeseburger, fries & onion rings, a fountain drink and a huge sundae at Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club.

We found that eating our main meal at lunch and just have a snack at night saves a lot.

If you want to picnic or eat in your hotel room, Publix (the grocery store) makes GREAT subs in their deli area.
