Cheap Airfare from Missouri

Hey everyone,
I'm going to WDW January 1-6, 2004 and still haven't bought plane tickets (we just booked it as a last-minute trip). I've been looking up airfare and it seems pricey. I'd like to fly out of St. Louis or Kansas City. Does anyone have any great tips or particular airlines that generally have low fares? I've tried travelocity and some other comparable sites. Should I go ahead and book now or wait and hope that something better comes up???

We fly Southwest out of Kansas City to Orlando. I like SW because they offer nonstop flights and the prices are reasonable. You might look at Southwest's website at iflyswa.com. It looks like they still have some reasonable fares for your dates. Have a great time!

Have you checked the Southwest Airlines web site? They are at least as competative for KC and St. L., and often cheaper than the bigger guys. Check the site for specials, too. I know that Southwest has nonstop flights from KC to Orlando.

I feel your pain about flying out of Missouri. For us it's a 3+ hr. drive to KC, 3 hrs. to Tulsa and 5 hrs. to St. Louis. If we fly out of Springfield or Fayetteville, Arkansas - the closest two airports - it costs more and involves more stops/long lay overs. It's almost a "you can't get there from here" situation. We're pooped by the time we reach Disney! On our last trip, we gave up and drove.

We're going back in March, and I'm currently watching fares. And you're right, they're high. I'm not sure they'll come down much by January, but good luck!

We're flying out of KC in Dec. and are prob. gonna go with Northwest. There will be a stop in memphis, but they are $400. cheaper than southwest right now. alco, they return flight is several hours later than any southwest flights which means more time at Disney!! (also- on southwset if you can fly out on tues, wed, or sat the fare is cheaper.)

HELLO- Disflan, We live in Sw Mo also. WE don't even check flying out of Spfd any more, To costly, too much work to get from Spfd to Orlando.. WE always fly out of KCI or Tulsa. Our next trip to WDW is in March 04, We are waiting for SW air to open there Flight times past March 6th?? Hope to get a good flight price wise..

Disfan3 - We live an hr. southwest of Spfld, and usually fly out of KC or Tulsa. We're going to WDW 3/27, and the ONLY reason I'm even considering Spfld is that my DS and his wife live in Spfld and are going with us. No matter how we do it, it's gonna be a major pain in the u-know-what.

I just checked Northwest out of Spfld this morning and it's gone up $100 a ticket in the last two days! $290.00 to $390.00 R/T. And it's not much better out of KC.

I'll keep watching Southwest for when they extend their dates - and check for something better out of KC. $1600+ is a little pricier than we want to pay.

I hope you get a good deal!

Disfan3 - I just discovered I can fly R/T from St. Louis to LONDON cheaper than going from Springfield to WDW!! ARRRGHH!!

GRRR!! It's just not fair. We live in a "flight challenged" domestic area.

Hey DisFlan and DISFANS3

I live in Springfield, MO so that's why this is such a pain for me too!! It would be so much easier if flights out of Springfield were cheaper. :( It looks like flights out of KC are the cheapest right now (around $180) so that's probably what I will have to go with. I guess it's not TOO bad, but I still wish it was cheaper and that I could fly out of Springfield for that same price!!!

pixiedust519- $180 outof KC doesn't sound too bad. I wish you could fly out of Springfield for that rate, too!

Let's all move to Florida.
