I'm so angry with Chase right now. I made a purchase using a Vitacost 10% off offer. Vitacost bills you on the date they ship even though the whole purchase was made on the same day. Since the charges showed up on 1/5 and 1/6 Chase only honored the first part of the order. I have talked to multiple supervisors and they won't budge on denying the part of the purchase that posted on the next day. Vitacost frequently bills this way so I will never use a Chase offer from them again. Please be aware that if your charges show up on different days you won't get the whole credit.

I contacted Vitacost and they're giving me a credit for 15% off the entire order. This is a better offer then what I was supposed to get from Chase. It still irks me that Chase was so stubborn about honoring this.

What you are saying is mostly true but always read the terms they list. Some like Kohls that bills as they ship will be combined and you will receive credit for the entire order. If I had to guess... Kohls authorizes for the full order making it easy to track as they use the same authorization to ship in parts. Others may charge X one day and X another day making it look like 2 separate orders. In a case like this ask that you be charged all at once when you place the order even if it is upfront so you are better speaking to a live person when you place the order.

T&Cs usually state the charge must *post* by a certain date. I usually avoid buying anything the last few days of an offer like that because it's always a gamble on whether or not the charge will post in time. This is especially an issue with buying online, where the post date can be several days after the day you place the order (in that case, the post date is usually the ship date not the order date).

Some offers also state it has to be a single purchase over a certain amount. In that case, ordering multiple items to hit that limit online can also be risky - if the company ships the items separately, they generally are supposed to charge the items separately (because they are supposed to charge for things only once they ship).
