Chase Security Warning Email....

I got the same one. I entered all my info but didn't hit the send button. This may sound so stupid, but can they see it even if you don't send it. It like that skyware stuff...

Am I safe???
You should be OK. It's kind of like receiving a form in the mail and you filling it out and never sending it. Did you delete the email?

Strange, but I do have an account at Chase but I have never received an email like this. I get them all the time from "ebay" though.

I have never gotten one for a credit card either.....which is why I guess it threw me and I actually considered clicking on the link! :sad2:

Our bank has a message on their website and on their phone message that says they never solicit information through emails and if you get anything like that to report it to them and DON'T reply to the email.

Me and DF got this email last week.. I promptly deleted it because I knew I had been on our bank website that morning and had no problems.. I called the bank and they said dont click the links as its not from them.. Everything looked legit on it though :sad2:

I got this email too and new it was a scam because I don't have any account with Chase.

Another hint I learned is that Paypal and eBay will put your username in the email, not your real name. .
----------------------------

Be VERY careful of this! I received one supposedly from Paypal that DID address me by name!!! I still wasn't about to click on any links within the email though and forwarded it to spoof@Paypal.. In about 2 minutes Paypal responded and told me it was indeed a scam.. Next day I got one from eBay - same thing - addressed me by my name.. Sent it on to eBay and received a notice back that it was a scam..

Even if it addresses you by name do NOT respond to it - forward it to the company in question, wait for a response and in the meantime, go to the official site and check for any suspicious activity.. These people who "phish" are getting smarter and smarter every day.. :sad2:

I have gotten that about 10 times in the last couple of weeks.
I do not have a Chase online account and anything that is that important would come to my "real" e-mail, not my "junk" one.....so always deleted....it sure gets annoying though.
