Chase Credit Cards

Its ironic, jsut today DW got a notification that her chase (business card) credit was cut by 15k down to 10k, because they "reviewed her use of credit and determined that it was an adaquate amount"

we were not suprised, we havn't use it for major stuff in several years and only would charge small amounts of office supplies, etc. to it, then pay it off.

guess things are getting tight all over.

I am so mad at American express right now. I have a $20,000 limit and have charged about $8000 and I just got a letter that they are raising my interest rate. No explanation except something about prime +? is going up. It is already 13% interest now I dont even know what it will go up to since they did not include it. I was paying about $500 a month on it and they still earned money on me every month but now this is too much so I am going to dig in my savings and pay it off this month. I will not have a savings account left lol but at least I will feel better knowing that they will lose the money they were charging me interest on my balance. You can have your money + no interest so in the end they lose.

But I will discontinue use due to the principle of it!

I agree with you 100%! I will not be using mine either because of the change. I'm sure it will be eventually be cancelled becasue of no activity but I don't care. I am so glad that I really don't need credit cards and don't have a balance on any of them!

I've worked in a call center before and while it can be a hard job at times, the benefits and pay are usually quiet good (considering most call centers don't require a degree.) But I also know how frustarating it can be working there, so I always try to be extra nice whenever I call in. But man, the Chase reps sure are a piece of work! They are NOT friendly or customer oriented. They show no sympathy or concern, nor are they apologetic if they can't help you.

I called to ask what my "opening balance" was, so that I could calculate my average daily balance, and thus my interest charges for the month. But there was "no way" for them to get that information. They can only see current day information. Ok, so then how do the statements know what my opening balance was, etc.

Chase is just one bit pathetic joke. I won't lose any sleep if they fail.

I agree 100%. The rep is just a person, an employee, not the company. But the gentleman that I spoke to I felt was so hostile, I even asked why, I just have a question? and finally told him I was hanging up because of his hostility.

These are the SAME people that were so happy at wamu, and they are so UNhappy at chase, it's just awful.

They never know anything, either, they mess up...and they don't apologize. It's just not right.

I completely agree. They're not the same anymore AND I'm missing some of my favorite tellers (no longer with the company) and they've moved in a couple supervisors who are just ....bleh. Fake.

And the new remodeling of the place? What a waste of money. My branch was only a couple years old, and bright and cheerful. Just what a waste!!!

Get this - my bank statements haven't been coming to be for a few months now. I should be getting, 2 checking and 1 savings from them. I figured it had something to do with Chase taking over, and since I do a lot of banking online, I wasn't getting them anymore.

I was in there 2 days ago, and he 'verified' my address. It was an address from 10 years ago, not the address I opened the account with NOR the address I'm currently at NOR an address I had while I was with WaMu!!!! My bank statements have been going to an address from 10 years ago, they pulled out of a hat. I asked why - they have no idea. :confused3 That reassures me.

I've got to figure out how to move my stuff. I have bills spread out the whole month, and it's just such a hassle figuring out when I can make that change.

Thats why we moved checking, savngs, money market, DW's IRA (and now credit card) to a credit union. They are very friendly and offer fixed rate CC's, etc. etc. plus free on-line bill pay with our checking.

At the current trend, I see a lot of banks making it very difficult to get and keep a credit card.

This supposed consumer bill of rights that takes effect in February is supposed to keep banks from doing what they are now doing with interest rates and credit limits, I guess we will see!
