Well, starting off my journal. I haven't kept track for my first three weeks, I have done well

Starting at 288 and losing 10 lbs since January 1, 2005. I hadn't needed to journal as of yet. Now as the hard part of my journey begings. I see the importance of it. I have sliped into the cheating cycle . A little here and there and not wanting to continue that patteren. I am creating a place for my thoughts and my goals to be listed. I need to see what I am moving towards. I know I can accomplish my goal if it is always fresh in my thoughts. I know some folks don't want to use the scale, but at my weight. It really can be helpful. I can lose a lot or none , but It is my goal to keep a constatant look at that scale and make sure I am not heading down the path of a relapse. I hope to gain many friends over the next months and I assume years. (Since this is a lifestyle change.) I think tommorrow I will think of some things I would like to do I am not able to do. I will also start listing my food and exersize diary enties. And tell you about my home made weight lose poster of Florida, and my weight loss stickers.

Untill tommorow,

Hi!

Congrats on starting the journal. And on 10 Pounds! :cheer2:

I find that just making myself "face" everyone keeps me on track LOL! The people on here are always supportive.

I have also noticed tha when I don't want to excersise, cruisng the journals pushs me forward. I see how much others are doing and I know I have no excuse (no kids, no DH, no pets etc...)

Welcome to WISH Charstar! You will get so much support here..post often. What kind of plan are you following?

Good luck to you and congratulations on the 10 lbs!

Gail

Welcome to the WISH Journals :wave2: I am a newbie to journaling but already find it an amazing support system rather posting in my own or reading others. This journey is quite amazing and sharing it wish so many is wonderful. Looking forward to reading about your poster and stickers - that sounds like a neat idea. ::yes::

Charstar - Welcome to W.I.S.H! I just know you are going to love it here and the results of your weight loss will be amazing to all of us and to you :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just started journaling this month, about two weeks ago actually, and I come here everyday and post how I'm doing. I always feel that I want to do well for all the wonderful people on here who support me and I believe that you will to. The power of support is far greater than the urge to cheat!

Good luck on your journey! I will stop in to see how you are doing from time to time!

Hey there!!! YOU are very RIGHT!!!! I went without the scales for about a year...and oila almost 20 pounds I had already lost were back on...I can't use my clothes as a gauge...they are mostly all stretchy! :)

Come and post anytime you feel you've had a good/bad day....you need to post the good days to remind yourself how disciplined you can be and the bad days to know they happen and you CAN move on!

Also take on some of the challenges..they are very helpful to me and I just love the pound clippies...I didn't notice if you'd put the 10 pound clippie on yet...I know it will look lovely on you!

Each 20 pounds that comes off do something nice for yourself!!! That's a GREAT loss! If you look at it like this...you only need 6 20 pound losses to be within range of a healthy goal! It looks alot better than 12 10-pound increments of 120 1 pound increments...think of 6 rewards that you would reallly really like...then write them down and make sure you give yourself the treat. For me it's inspiration clothing...when I got out of 18/20's I went and bought size 14's to just hang up and know that one day I would wear those and I THREW AWAY all my 18/20's ....not going back!

You'll find great tips and encouragement here...stick to it and you'll love yourself for it!

Charstar here 1/23 entry! What a magical day! Ok I look a really long nap so I was cozied up in bed most of the afternoon. I am a night owl generally.

Thanks everyone for leaving messages for me!
It's so good to hear from all of you with all the well wishes!

Today, started off nice . I had 2 eggs for breakfast, lunch was a bowl of chili w/ crakers. for a snack I had a low carb herseys bar (ok yum). and for dinner I had a turkey sandwich. I sure I will have something else later on. A couple of you asked which plan I am following. I am mostly calorie counting right now. I like a plan where anything goes. If I want that pizza I can have it, just not the whole thing. (my daily goals vary from 1200 when I am doing good and am so busy I didn't notice I haven't eaten, otherwise 1400-1600 when I am a little more hungry. If I am taking the day off I try not to go over 2000 calories. I keep varing the calories so my body does not think I am dieting . My focus is on making better choices overall. I have incorporated more salads into my weekly diet and this week we started accually planning our meals, everyone (should) be eating the same dinner and eatting the right portions. My husband is also watching his weight and drops weight like he has a release valve somewhere on him (no fair). That's guys for you. I am working my way back to the gym. Members of the YMCA since 2003 Christmas. I have been working on taking away cola's. My favorite is Coke. I did switch to C2 when they came out. I have one or two a week of those. Otherwise I am drinking diet dr.pepper or diet pepsi. I tend to drink water more once I start to working out more. I also love Propell, flavored waters. Peach is one of my favorites. princess:

That's all for now, Charstar :3dglasses

Charstar - I like the quick release valve thing. My DH is just as skinny as the day I met him and I has always been a firm rule that if I just stayed lighter than him I would be okay (not great but okay). In the last two weeks of my pregnancy I weighed more than him and that was a bad fortnight!

I want some of those low carb chocolate bars - I have only seen one brand here $3.50 each!!

Imhall2000 - I loved your idea about buying new clothes and throwing out the old! I am going to go upstaris and goodwill all my loose stuff right now!

Hi Again charstar! Sounds like you have a great plan set up. ::yes:: I also have a DH with a release valve :rotfl: I have to remember sometimes when we both cheat - he can get it off in a week and it will take me 3 . It's SO unfair! Keep up the great work - healthy choices over time are going to make a huge impact on not only your weight but your overall health. ::yes::

I'm so impressed with your 10 lbs. off since Jan. 1! 10 lbs in less than a month is fabulous progress!

I know what you mean about the scale. I think it is helpful in keeping up the motivation. That number may not move a lot some weeks, but so long as it's moving in the right direction I know I'm on the right path.

Are you using a tape measure too? I think it really helps with keeping motivated. A 7 lb weight loss may mean 1.5 inches off your waist which really makes you feel like you've accomplished something.

Good luck with increasing the water consumption. I'm trying that too. Choosing water over soda is REALLY hard, but it does seem to show up on the scale.
