took dd to see this today, dh and ds went to see the reef instead;)

i really enjoyed this film, it was well told and seemed to keep dd's interest well:) i have to say there was rather too many shots of the spider for my liking:lmao: and i NEVER thought i would give a monkeys when one of the blessed things died :confused3
i have never read the book !! as a very avid reader im ashamed to say that:rolleyes1 so i can't comment on how they kept to the story.

anyway definatly worth seeing but perhaps not for 5yr old boys... so ds says the reef was good but a rip off from shark tale:rotfl:

Thanks Natalie the girls wanted to see it this week but we never quite made it, maybe soon I'm sure they'd love it as they've both read the book at school. :thumbsup2

Thanks for that. DD 7 has just read the book and wants to see it but I was not sure if it will keep DS 5 interest. We haven't got The Reef up here yet so maybe have to rethink that one:thumbsup2

Molly enjoyed it but she sobbed at the end (I was sniffly anyway but she set me off big style!) Quite what we looked like coming out of the cinema I don't know!

I never read the book either!

Glad you both enjoyed it Nat, I can't imagine me wanting to see a film about a spider (whether it's cute or not) and I've never read the book either :)

Glad you both enjoyed it:thumbsup2

Don't think I'll be seeing it at the cinema although will probably get it on dvd. I did read the book and would be really interested to see how they both compare:)

we saw it today and the whole cinema was in floods at the end. I didn't feel too embarassed when I saw a lot of dads with 'something in their eyes' coming out.
very well done though, that Dakota Fannings brilliant
