Is there anyone else that thinks this show on the Disney channel is annoying? I would rather watch a full day of Doodlebops than listen to Charlie and Lola! And that terrible 70s music for the theme song. Yuck!

Oh, it's cute! I like that Charlie helps his little sister. My kids like it too. Of course, they also like the Doodlebops... :confused3

My son loves it because he is all about being a helper to his little sister. (He currently gets a kick out of feeding her and wants to be a 'feeder' when he grows up :rotfl2: ) But he says the Doodlebops freak him out, thank goodness!

Charlie and Lola drive me crazy! Even my toddler refuses to watch. He loves the wiggles, doodlebops and higglytown heroes....but charlie and lola...gagg!!!

I don't really care for it either, but neither does my daughter so I'm lucky. I'm not really a Doodlebops fan either though so I don't know which I'd choose Charlie & Lola or Doodlebops. Doodlebops annoys me cause Mo is always missing and then he always pulls that stupid rope. Actually, Madison only likes the 'short' shows, like Shanna's Show, Breakfast with Bear, etc. so I rarely have to watch any of those things. She LOVES Shanna and Bear. Oh, well she also likes JoJo's Circus, but so do I so that works well!

My son likes Charlie and Lola. He likes the shows that are low-key. I do, too. I can't stand children's programming that just shrieks at you. I think Doodlebops do that - I can't stand them! Or the idea that characters have to be made up bizarrely to be interesting. "Out of the Box" had lots of singing and dancing, but Tony and Viv didn't have to dress up like Oompah Loompahs.

What happened to Out of the Box, anyway?

I think Charlie and Lola is cute and it's my DD's favorite show. Tomorrow she starts 1st grade and she's going to have to hard time dealing with not being able to watch it.

The Doodle Bops are more annoying than nails on a chalk board as far as I'm concerned.

I also wonder what happened to Out of the Box, that used to be DD's favorite.

I would rather watch an ant farm than C & L. My son shows no interest which is fine with me. He LOVES Bear, and even more the new show on Nick, I believe Jack's Big Music Show.

We LOVE charlie and Lola around here. I think it is the best new thing Play house Disney (and nick Jr too for that mater) has done in a long time. I can't stand the wiggles or Doodlebops. My hubby pointed out that Doodlebops changes camera angles like every 2 to 3 seconds and it just drives me nuts. Way too much over stimluation. I totally agree with va32h about low key shows. Why should they be strange just to be interesing. Of course my DD other very favorite in the whole world is Kipper the Dog. I guess we are suckers for those british acents. My DD now says "ready, steady, go" Instead of ready set go!" The charlie and lola books by Lauren Child are REALLY cute too.

I miss out of the box to. It always seems they take away the good stuff and play the mediocore stuff to dealth. (Like bear only being on really early, and winnie the pooh, but wiggles and doodlebopps are on 3 times a day.) I am excited about the new little Enstine. DD has the DVD and loves it. Her baby sister likes it too. She now walks around humming "ode to Joy" It is pretty funny.

Thanks for reminding be about Kipper! We used to love that show. I have a tape of it, fortunately. Why do they get rid of all the good stuff?

Thank goodness I have tapes of Little Bear, Oswald, and Little Bill.

Dd2 watches PBS shows now - Clifford, and DragonTales. She does like JoJo too, though.

And even though she doesn't watch Dora the Explorer, she has named her blanket "Dora". I guess all those commercials just soak in whether you want them to or not.

I am not fond of C & L, but DD likes it. I will not let her watch the Doodlebops. We used to switch over to Miffy on Noggin, but now that is on before DD gets up. DD wants to watch Little Einstien, but I have to keep telling her it is not on until October. Try explaining that to an almost 3 year old. I hate it when they advertise things so far ahead.

I don't mind Charlie & Lola. Not my favorite, but it doesn't make me cringe, either. I do really miss the lineup from when my ds was younger, though. Things like Bear, PB&J Otter, Out of the Box (I loved this one), etc. Some of their new stuff is just way too out there for me (like the Doodlebops).

They many many kipper on DVD and VHS now and they good news is they are normally very cheap! DD loves them. Once when she was around 20 months old she was sick witht he flu and was up all night. DH and took turns holding her and cleaning up and she insisted she wacth that one Kipper over and over all night. As soon as I could I got another one and have been collecting them ever since. She has a little kipper the dog stuffed toy, bean bag size she loves and takes everywhere with her.

That is one reason I don't like nick jr too many comericals. At least playhouse Disney and PBS doesn't do that.

I miss Little Bear, Oswald, and Little Bill too, along with maggie and the beast and max and ruby. :goodvibes

My DD likes watching Charlie and Lola but I admit that I haven't actually watched it with her yet. I do know though that she also loved the Charlie and Lola books at the library and I couldn't stand them. I just thought they were annoying.

But I love the Doodlebops :rotfl:

DD likes to watch Charlie and Lola and I think they are okay. Now the Doodlebops are a totally different story. Can't stand them.

I miss "Out of the Box" also.

I hate C & L. They are really boring and neither of the girls will sit through a portion of the show. Holly has been watching old episodes of Little Bear, Oswald, Maggie/ferocious beast, Blues Clues (w/ Steve!), etc (the old NickJr shows Remy loved) on NOGN when it comes on. I also "introduced" her to the Smurfs, The Snorks and others that I watched when I was a kid LOL. She also likes "PongePob" (her way of saying SpongeBob). Her favorites however remain the Wiggles and Bear (we have the dvds/vhs since Breakfast w/ Bear is lame).

Charlie & Lola...yuck. Doodlebops...double YUCK! Maybe they are just testing these new shows out in place of Out of the Box and if they don't work, they'll bring back OotB? One can only hope. The Doodlebops scare the hell out of me!

C&L is good. Doodlebops- ick! Luckily, DD has just turned 7, so we are just about grown out of shows like that.

Ah, Kipper!! DD loved Kipper- when she was 2 and 3, she actually adopted a funny little British accent, dropping the -er endings of words. She'd say, Mothah, may we watch Kippah today? Kippah is brilliant!! :rotfl:

I just can't watch Charlie and Lola. DH makes fun of me becuase he knows I find the showing annoying. He will joke with our DS and say 'mommies favorite show is coming on.' My son does like Doodle Bops, however nothing compares to his Bob The Builder, which we have to DVR.

Too funny. My DD did the same thing. Maybe that is one of the things I like about C&L. DH does a great kipper voice.

I am actually surprized so many people dont' like C&L. I think it is very imaginative and sweet. I love how kind Charlie is to Lola and how smart and creative it is. I admit the art work style takes some getting used to, but it has grown on me. I wish it was more then 15 min a day. :goodvibes

Sometimes I wish we had noggin, but then again we have enough T.V around here, enough viedos and DVD's and netficks so we are doing good. One of these days DH will break down and get Digital cable and we will have it, but I hate change and what I have now works for me. :Pinkbounc

Honestly the only kids show I HATE are ones that teach my kids things I don't want them to copy, like being mean, rude and nastly. Most other stuff I can tollerate as long as it is good for them. Heck I can even live with boombas if they make DD (1 year old) smile and dance. Good thing they outgrow them fast. Personally Dora really bugs me, but it is on right now and DD is wachting and learning so I live with it.
