charleston and savannah

We are heading to HH for Spring Break. Before we check in to Disney's Hilton Head we thought we would spend two nights in Charleston and one in Savannah. Could anyone recommend hotels that are moderately priced(under $200) with a pool and free breakfast? Also any recommendations of things to do and places to eat would be appreciated too. thanks

When in Charleston, we stay at the Holiday inn riverview. It is very close to historic downtown but not to expensive. Make sure you eat at Poogan's Porch. Yummy. Make sure to take a carriage ride and maybe Middleton plantation. They also have a nice aquarium. Not a huge Savanna fan but it is close enough to HH that you can do a day trip from there and not have to spring for a room. We're still on waiting list for spring break but already have our Charleston reservations, maybe we'll see you there!

We took a day trip to Savannah when we visited HHI in August, it was HOT, HOT, HOT!!! But, we are glad we went. If you do plan on going to Savannah, don't go until you speak with Mike ("the pool guy"), he is from Savannah and has a lot of great information to share. We were very glad we spoke to him first.
