So I have explained in a number of posts we go to WDW often, but 1st trip to DL and looking forward to it. I know, or think I know, that there are no DP at DL. But can you still charge to room. From what I have read are there no magic bands at DL, so charge to room card?
Is there a TIW like WDW or not?

You can enable/disable charge-to-room privileges on the room keycards (assuming your staying at PPH, DLH, or GCH)

No. But you will be asked if you have an AP at every purchase (because AP's get various discounts)

To charge to your room you need to make sure charging privileges are enabled on your room key. You then just present your room key and photo ID that needs to match to the room key name to charge back.

Almost everywhere in parks that takes credit cards accepts room charges. Note that room charges are ONLY at Disney owned and managed locations...for example most of DTD you can not charge back, but some locations like World of Disney you can.

DVC Members do get discounts virtually everywhere (I think there is a minimum purchase for merchandise at Disney owned locations), but unlike APs, they don't always ask, so always make sure they know you are a DVC member.

Additionally, you will need to show ID that you are a DVC member. If you are staying on points, your room key should be marked as a DVC member, but some locations will still ask to see your membership card, so it would probably be a good idea to bring that.

If we're staying on a DVC reservation (purchased points) I'm guessing we're not entitled to the DVC discounts...correct?

You need to show your blue DVC membership card and a photo id to get the discount. All the restaurants have a DVC discount, just not the carts.

If you are a DVC member who purchased on points, just show your card. If you are not a DVC member, then no.

Would they apply the discount to selected dinners that include seating at the shows. Since we purchase these in advance would they credit you? I am thinking of F! and PTN

Usually you have to mention it at time of booking if they offer such a discount.

If you are a DVC member, you can always get the DVC discounts by showing your membership card and ID, even if you aren't staying on property at all.
