Charging things (eg, shopping, meals) to the hotel bill

Hello again!

Second question. I've read in my well-thumbed guide books that it's possible to buy things and charge them to my hotel account. How does this work? Is it just merchandise? Or could I go for, say, dinner at the Blue Lagoon and charge the bill to the hotel? And how do I actually go about doing this charging? Would love to hear from anyone who has done this.

Thanks again! :flower3:

When you check in at one of the Disney Hotels and give the receptionist your credit card details, you will be given a card which can be used to charge any purchases made in the park (including restaurant bills) directly to your hotel account to be settled at the end of your stay.

BTW, any purchases you make with the charge card in the resort can also be sent back to your hotel, to avoid you having to carry all your shopping around with you.

Great info!
Any idea how long it takes your purchased items to arrive in your hotel? Is it typically that evening or more like 24 hours...or before checkout or something? :confused3

you can pick up them at gift shop after 8pm. But to use this service you have to shop before 2pm, if you shop later, they won't bring your purchase to the hotel.

The card they give you is called a 'hotel easy pass' it has your name and your stay details on there. If I recall, you can't use it on your last day (but I might be wrong), obviously as there may not be time to get the bill to your hotel before you check out/pay your bill.

Someone mentioned that you can find your balance on your TV in the your room but have to say I never did - although to be fair, I didn't spend very long looking!

In June, we stayed in the DLH and charged all our major purchases and TS meals to the card. Our bill was 100% correct at the end (despite having two bills - long story!), which after 5 days, I was quite surprised at :lmao: :thumbsup2. It is the first time we have done this (we have used it before but only for purchases and things in drinks etc in the hotel) and I found it useful. We took currency but kept it in the safe (other than a small amount for incidentals each day). At the end of the holiday we paid the bill with the cash and had a little left over for November - which was surprising! :cool1: Using the currency we took meant we didn't have any bank charges to pay if we'd used our debit card instead :thumbsup2.

We always do this as it saves carrying cash and you only have 1 credit card transaction so no worries about fees there either.

You can use it up until you settle your account so if you check out & settle your bill in person at the reception the pass won't work again.

The shopping service is great, just remember to go & collect it before you pack to go home.....!!! ;)

Thanks, everyone, that's really helpful and good to know. I am liking the sound of this service. :thumbsup2
