Hi everyone , mabye this has been asked before but i am wondering if i could put everything in the "world" on my room key
meaning Counter Food service and gift purchases inside the parks?

last year i only used the charge on room key feature at the resort food courts

thanks Michelle

Yes, you can. The only thing you can't put is items from a few of the really small kiosks, such as the ice cream vendors.

I was surprised at all the things you can put on a room key. The only places we needed cash for is the little rolling vending carts. It was great not to have to carry a lot of cash around.

Whatch out!! Disney makes it very easy to spend money! We went to the parks with a set dollar amount to spend. It was very hard to try and curb our spending!!! With charging to your room key it makes it very easy to spend!
;)

One way to cut down on spending and/or track it is to go to the front desk every evening and pay your charges for that day. We did this at the hotel and at DCL. It helped alot with two adults charging stuff to the room.

EASY SPENDING oh no , i was sure that is what the responses would say.. I am not the most decplined person when it comes to spending .. I will have to give this a lot of thought .. thanks to those who answered.. Michelle

DH says Disney has those balloon and toy CM's stand at the exits at night to grab your ankles, turn you upside down and shake the change out your pockets. That's not literal, of course, but, it still can work out the same way if you aren't VERY careful. We use the internet to plan our trips down to the dollar.

I am wondering if it is possible to put a limit on the amount that can be spent on the room card? DH and I was to keep our vacation spending to about $800 for our trip. Can we just put that much on the card?

I believe you can put a limit on a card. We haven't ever done that though. I think you can also put different limits on different cards, such a small limit for your kids.

We found we could use them everywhere except in the Barber Shop in the MK.

She told me they could except credit cards, but they weren't set-up for room key cards.

We found you could even use the room keys at the McDonald's in Downtown Disney! Probably the only McDonald's in the universe that takes credit LOL.:p

Perhaps this has been asked before...so please forgive....what if you know that your CC has a specific amount of credit left on it....say $500. Does this create a problem?? I certainly wouldn't charge over the limit....AND....are there any major CC that Disney will not accept????

Thanks in advance!!!!!

DH just thought of another question...

When do you room charging privileges end? We plan to check out at 9:00am on our last day, and then head back to the parks. We will have UPH, so the card will still be active after check out for our passes. I am guessing that we can't still charge to the card because we will have checked out. Is that true?

It won't be a problem as long as you spend less than $500. The front desk will do a test $1 transaction when you check in just to make sure the card isn't stolen or anything. They don't put a hold on any amount of money. I believe they accept all major credit cards. If I'm not mistaken, they didn't accept Discover at first, but they started to a few years ago. But don't take my word for it because I don't have a Discover card.

Your room charging privilages don't end until midnight of your last day. You won't even need to really check out. On your last morning, the front desk will slide a list of charges up until that point under your door. Since you gave them a credit card, if you don't have any problems with any of the charges, just leave. They'll charge anything you put on the key to your card for the rest of the day.
