charging on resort ids

If I were to just give the cash to the desk at check in and get THAT amount on the room key, and suppose I don't spend all of it...Will I get it back at check out???

Lord knows we'll probably spend every penny, but it was just a concern my thrifty husband asked. :)

Just a little update... We just got back from our trip on Sunday. The McDonald's at Downtown Disney does NOT accept your room key anymore. They will still accept regular credit cards though. However, the Earl of Sandwich does accept them.
Welcome back--hope you had a magical time :wizard: we will be there
May 10 (I'm so excited cuz tomorrow I get to say we are going next
month! :cool1: my question to you however, beside McD's at DTD,
do you recall anywhere at WDW or DTD where you could not charge
to your room? Also I think I read that you could not have purchases
delivered to your room the day before the morning you are due to
check out--is this correct as well?? Thanks!

Thanks! We did have a great time!

We didn't venture too much around DTD... Actually didn't make it to the West Side at all this trip, so I'm not a lot of help there. Sorry! As far as the rest of the World, the only place I remember having to use cash instead of my card was a little coffee kiosk at Epcot. It was right on the water, but on the Future World side of the lagoon (lake? what is it called? ) I used it everywhere else though...

As far as having your packages delivered to your room... You are correct. You cannot have them sent the day before your checkout. No one gave me a reason for this, but my guess is that it's because it will most likely be delivered to your gift shop after the normal checkout time (the next day) and they would have no way of finding you or notifying you that it was there. (It does not go to your room - it goes to the gift shop at your resort and you'll have to go there to get it.) We had a package delivered during our stay, and the CM that checked us out at World of Disney said it should arrive by 3pm the next afternoon. There was a voice mail left for us around noon saying it was at the gift shop ready for us to pick it up at our convenience. It works out fine as long as you do a little shopping early during you trip.

Have fun next (almost!) month!
