"Charge It To The Room! - I'm NOT Drunk!" - WDW Vacation 2013! (UPDATE - (2/7)

I knew I liked you! Haha. I'm from PA too and my daughter made her grand entrance on August 13th and my house is on "13 blah blah drive". Blah blah isn't really my street name just don't want to announce my real street in the Internet. Haha, although blah blah as a street name would be freakin awesome!!! And Everest is one of my FAVORITE MUST DO rides in Disney!!

Edit: also want to throw in that now that you are DVC members you should definitely try the drive to Disney instead of flying. I freak out as soon as we get on 95. To me the road trip down is AMAZING!!! I'm already making my list of Disney movies and snacks to bring for our drive in January. The beauty about having your own car is that you can easily be back at your hotel in a matter of minutes for that much needed afternoon nap!!! Previously, even when driving down we always took Disney transportation while there... Well we had a very bad bus experience the last trip when they packed us in like sardines and no one would give up their seat so I could sit with my then 15 month old, after that if we couldn't walk or take the monorail we drove and we couldn't believe how awesome it was to take our car to the parks!! When leaving animal kingdom for example we were all just hot and sweaty and went right into my car and turned the air on as high as possible. It was heaven!!!! I promise, you won't regret it!!

I felt so bad for him, he always gets sick the first day of vacation & I don't know why! too much excitement maybe?!

Going down is a piece of cake because of all the excitement and craziness and it just seems to take no time at all. Coming home is a different story, probably because we have to leave Disney and go back to real life . That's really the only downside to the drive, coming home. It's absolutely dreadful.

He seriously probably did! That voice was just nuts! I seriously am still a little bit unsure if his voice was real or not! I AM JUST SO CONFUSED!?
& oh, I know, literally we could only think of two places, & they were both so far away, THE STRUGGLE OF DAK!
That's usually my philosophy but his poor little self was so ill but he feels better (SPOILER ALERT) hahah

Finally Ryan felt better, so it was time for MORE DISNEY, WOOOOO!

Since the whole family was together again, my dad wanted us all to go to It's Tough To Be A Bug! So that's where we headed.

We once again passed up these two cutie pies,

Which stinks, but that's okay, the line was way too long so we just waved as we passed by.

Both Ryan & Miller absolutely love ITTBAB. Why?! I don't know. It has scared the heck out of me since I was little & in all honesty, still does. I'm sorry but Hopper may be the scariest thing I have ever seen.

Walking under the Tree of Life!

I look way too happy to be going on something that I am terrified of.

I absolutely love these little musical poster things, they crack me up everytime. This one is definitely my favorite.

So we loaded into the theater where Flik made us honorary bugs, & one by one the bugs came out to show their stuff.
Everytime a bug would finish you would hear Ryan above everything else say,
"I love this!"

Which made us all laugh hysterically each time.
We let the bugs out first, (little pervy bugs that like to touch butts!) & then made our exit.

It was time to use this baby!

Marge & Nikki decided this was a no go for them, so they headed over to Rainforest to check in. Ashley & her boyfriend & Aunt Beth were already over there.

That left, Miller, Nick, Kelly, Ryan & me to go on Everest.

We handed our fastpasses over & walked right on the ride.

Now here's where things got interesting.
While walking over to Everest it was NOT raining, not even sprinkling. Not one droplet of water.
Then when we sat down & got locked into the ride, IT STARTED TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURING.

It was raining sideways, like straight horizontal.
My dad started laughing, cause he thought it was pretty funny that it was raining.

So we started moving out of the gate & as soon as we got out of the covered roof we were instantly drenched. Head to toe soaked.

As we were going up the hill it started getting worse, if that was possible!? but believe me... it could get worse.

We made it to where "there doesn't seem to be any track" & then just stopped.... I don't mean the couple seconds where you are supposed to stop.
NO.
We were sitting there in this tsunami for about 8 MINUTES.

If we weren't soaked before, we sure as heck were now.
I was trying to shove my backpack into my poncho to keep it a little dry at all.

My dad was howling at this point.
I turned around & his face was purple because he was laughing so hard. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life.

at one point, we figured they were going to come unload us, cause we were just NOT moving.

Suddenly we heard another car behind us!?
Kelly said,
"ARE WE GOING TO DIE!?"
& in between his howls of laughter my dad gets dead serious & says,
"Yes. Yes we are."
Then burst out into hysterics that caused him to basically be crying hysterically.

Sometimes when we are stuck in situations like this I think of all possible death scenarios.
So in my psycho head I was CONVINCED that if we started moving again, that our cart would fly off the track & we would be dead.
Like, death was certain in my mind. I was absolutely terrified.

So what does my embarrassing 19 year old self start doing?
BAWLING
I mean, I was shaking & choking & just full on meltdown crying.

I'm usually not scared on rides, but I mean, I WAS TERRIFIED.
(foreshadowing: this happens one more time on a separate ride)

All the sudden the track clicked & I let out a blood curdling scream, which of course made my dad laugh even harder.

WE STARTED TO MOVE.

Ohmygod. Like I may as well have been in cardiac arrest. I was basically certifiably dead at this point.

We made it to just before the drop where it takes your picture & I thought maybe we would stop again.
Nope.
We were going.
In this tsunami.
Down the hill.
To. Our. Death.

Ryan was trying to calm me down before we started moving & then just gave up because I was so hysterical.

We were going down the hill & approaching the turn (which is where we were going to die in my head) & somehow managed to stay on the track.
I don't know why I doubted you Disney, but I was a mess.

You're welcome DIS.... you are welcome...

We had pools of water pouring out of us wherever we stood.
& of course we were going to eat at Rainforest IN THE FREEZING COLD.
So being the sweetest person in the planet that he is, Miller decided to buy us all new Disney clothes.
YAY.

Except for the thing I wanted most was dry underwear, which we didn't find.

I bought this for myself, & decided I didn't want it, but never got around to returning it, so I still have it!

Kelly & I picked the same two shirts & couldn't figure out which one we wanted more, so I told her that I'll get whatever one she didn't want.
They are both cute, so it didn't matter.

I couldn't find any shorts that I wanted to wear so I just dealt with my soggy shorts,

We walked over to Rainforest to meet up with everyone & Kelly & I went to the bathroom to change our clothes.

Somehow my shirt got stuck on a hook & I literally could not move, so I was laughing hysterically trying to call for Kelly when there were other people in there & when I finally got her she just stood on the other side of the door & laughed.
RUDE.
Finally I got the situation taken care of & was able to change my shirt.
Kelly & I assumed we could dry our shorts with the hand dryers.

Well what do you know they changed to the ones that you have to put your hands down into it...
HOW WOULD WE GET OUR SHORTS DRY?

Well in the middle of a crowded bathroom Kelly & I just sat our soaking bums on these hand dryers trying to get down in them to get a little dry.
At that moment, my Aunt Beth chose to walk in.
She looks at us & then just turned around & left.
Which of course caused me & Kelly to drop to the floor in tears.

After about 15 minutes of failure we gave up & just decided to deal with it.

We walked out & I sat next to Marge & Ryan.
I looked at Marge & what do you know, WE BOUGHT THE SAME SHIRT.
Of all the hundreds of shirts, we get the same one & then sit next to eachother.
Ohmy.

Seeing as my bag was soaked & I didn't want to pull my phone out & get it wet I was only able to take one food picture, of the appetizer.

I'm sorry, I do better the rest of the trip, promise.
This was just unavoidable.

I got a Shirley Temple (ALWAYS) & Ryan got a coke.

This was the appetizer, whatever it was.

It was delicious!

I got the Mojo Bones & Ryan got the Pastalaya.
Ryan ABSOLUTELY loved his meal.
I on the other hand only liked my french fries.
I was pretty disappointed, but ohwell. Can't win them all.

I still love Rainforest, I'll just have to try something different.

We decided that we were still soaked & a mess so we decided to head back to AKL.

A HOT MESS.

I love this next picture. Marge is staring at my dad so angrily, & for some reason Ryan didn't come sit in the back (with the warm butt seats) with me & Kelly.

So we made it back to AKL, & Ryan jumped in the shower & Kel & I decided to hang out on the little porch thing.

It was nice, we just sat there & were talking about life & enjoying time together.

We had been trying to change our reservation to Crystal Palace all day to get everyone in, but we couldn't get it, so we had to call & cancel.
I was pretty upset about it, cause I was excited, but you just gotta go with the flow.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed with a tweet from fellow DISer, Sarah, (sarahhhmarie27). Conversation went like this.

S: How many will be in your group on Friday?
L: 6, I believe.
S: Well we have a reservation for BE OUR GUEST for 6 people on Friday.

I STARTED FREAKING OUT.

L: OMG. ME & RYAN WILL GO. They won't mind if we go out without the group for one night! WE WILL GO. OMG WE WILL GO!

It turns out that Kristen & Jess & the rest of their party (I imagine you know them on the DIS) had made two separate reservations for their trip & then instead of cancelling offered it to Sarah, WHO OFFERED FOR US TO GO WITH HER & HER FIANCE!
I COULDN'T EVEN BREATHE.

We had tried & tried & tried to get reservations & just couldn't!
WE WERE GOING TO GET TO GO!!!

It was funny because Sarah & I had promised eachother that somehow we would eat at BOG, & we were... TOGETHER! WOOOOO!

Amidst all this excitement Kelly & I heard this crazy sound.
We decided that it was an ostrich choking.

I tweeted:
"SOMEBODY HELP THIS OSTRICH. IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS CHOKING. #OMG"

It eventually stopped, so somebody must've helped it.

I tweeted again:
"Here is the most special of shoutouts to Sarah for getting us into BOG. Can't wait to meet you & I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!" - 10:08PM.

Kelly headed out with Beth & Ashley, so I took a shower, caught up on my trip journal, & watched some Stacey til I fell asleep.
