Ok,

I read the menu for the buffet breakfast. I am not interested as much in the charactors but in the buffet. Is the food pretty good? Is it worth the price for the buffet? I have this vision of ehh "fair" food and lots of charactors. Should I save my money and get a nicer lunch or dinner? I like buffets and I like the idea of an all you can eat but if the food is like a Home Town Buffet which is ok, I will save my $$

anyone have any ideas?

If you prefer quality food over character interaction, then I would suggest the breakfast buffet at Storyteller's Cafe at the GCH.

We have been very happy with the food and interaction at that character meal. The food is not spectacular or gourmet, but its good quality and fresh. I like that there are people plating the food, at the buffet line, so that the guests are not touching things I'll be eating. Buffets really gross me out.

If you are more interested in the food than the characters I would NOT go to the character breakfast.

We loved it because our girls had such a great time with the characters, but the food was ordinary, and if you weren't paying extra for characters, it was quite expensive just for breakfast.

Yah I think I'm going to stick with the free hotel breakfast just to get going, and save my $$ for a better lunch or dinner.

thanks for the info

I know you didn't ask but Carnation Cafe has a great breakfast menu and wonderful food too!

I like Goofy's food for dinner of all the buffet type places. They have the most food of all the buffets and we have always had great service. They always have a roast carving station and some in our group like "well done" so they ask and the chef cooks it more and brings it out! They always have a seafood entry, another meat type entry and then variations of "etnic" foods like sometimes Chinese and sometime Mexican but always way more than you can eat topped of with a great salad bar and then a whole kids area with popcorn shrimp, pizza, macaroni and cheese. Did I mention the dessert bar was fabulous! You would not go hungry. While some say Storytellers has better food, I missed the variations and nothing taste better to me and I don't like it when I can't get condiments like sour creme for my potato-lol.

I would not do plaza inn just for the food, ever but we go everytime for the kids. We also like carnation and do breakfast there at least once each trip but the place everyone likes breakfast best is The Riverbelle Terrace. It is cheap and delicious and has nice views overlooking the rivers of america. DH is a big eater and gets the Mark Twain with a side of pancakes and it is still waaay cheaper than most any other place inside the park.

we have not been there in 2 years, but i can tell you my dh is still talking about this buffet. we went for breakfast. there is nothing gourmet. ready made omelets are great. he really could care less about the characters, much more interested in breakfast. this is the one place he always says we're going to have breakfast. breakfast with characters...looking for food, go there. if your looking for characters interaction with some decent breakfast, I would recommend paradise pier with lilo and stitch.

We love Minnie's Character Breakfast. I love breakfast and find this buffet great! We love the selection, the food is really tasty and fresh. While we haven't had breakfast at Goofys we have had dinner there and much prefer Minnie's breakfast to Goofy's dinner. We thought the food was awful both times we have been there.

Foodwise, for breakfast I would rate Storytellers very high. Its the one character meal I have been to at either WDW or DL (and I have been to all of them at both parks) that was about the food. It also has a very nice atmosphere. I love Goofy's and have had dinner there around ten times with great food and characters all of them. I do have to say, I think the food at Minnie's is just average. We enjoyed it and certainly found things we enjoyed, however its in a smaller setting so the variety isn't there the way it is at the three breakfasts at the hotels (Goofys, Lilo and Stitch and Storytellers). For food, I would definitely recommend Storytellers, it was exceptional, and you can order off the menu if you choose not to do the buffet.

And I also second the idea of Carnation Cafe. I love eating there and enjoying the comings and goings on Main Street. Its a very charming place to have a quick, sit down meal that is fairly inexpensive.

That's what I would do - and have a good meal at Blue Bayou. Now that was good food and a good experience as well.
