characters signing clothes?

Will characters sign clothes? I was hoping they would sign clothes that my DD is not wearing, plus a onesie for a friend who is having a baby. Will they do this? I will have my own sharpie too.

I don't see why not. I think the only thing they can't sign is body parts.

I don't know, but I would think that it would be easier for the face characters to sign something like that as opposed to the full-costume characters. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, all have bulky gloves on that might create an issue. But, I am not really sure.

I think the best thing to do, is maybe approach the handler with each character first and ask before you actually ask the character to sign. And, as always, I am sure that you will probably get some CMs who are nicer than others, or give you different answers than others. But, IMO, it can't hurt to ask!

I've seen people wearing hats and shirts with a whole bunch of character signatures on them...I think they'll do it as long as you're not actually wearing the shirt at the time of the signing. How well the signatures actually turn out is another matter... I'd try stretching the shirt over a piece of cardboard or something.

we saw a mom asking if minnie would sign her daughter's shirt (that her daughter was wearing), but minnie kindly declined by motioning that she doesn't sign clothing. so i think as long as your not wearing the shirt, you should be good to go.

At WDW they are not allowed to sign clothes that someone is currently wearing. They can sign a shirt if it is on a Tshirt board. I read it in one of the guides.

Not sure why it is but it one of the rules.

You could also try using a clipboard with the shirt/onesie stretched over it. Hold it down with the clippy top and some rubber bands to keep it taut. That way, the fabric won't move while they try to sign and you can rearrange it to recenter a blank spot for the next character!

I think the reason they won't sign clothes on people is because of the effort it takes to sign something with those big gloves and the clothing moving. If the clothing moves weird, a person could end up getting more than they bargained for, depending on where the character is signing! I realize that on children this isn't as much of an issue, but if it was on adults, it sadly reminds me of concert-going girls getting their shirts signed...if you know what I mean. I'm not saying YOU are going for that, it was just the first thing I thought of for why it's inappropriate for a character/person to sign another person's shirt!

I've had them sign shirts (that I had made into a tshirt quilt) and a fabric bag that was my daughter's trick or treat bag, I had them use a sharpie and I used thick cardboard for the bag and a cross stitch hoop with the tshirt (I prefered the thick cardboard as it was easier to carry around the park). All the characters signed the t shirts and bag, even Pluto easily signed it.

They sign clothes, not when worn. Duh...they can't be touching people...espeically kids!! People are always freaking out about characters these days, hitting kids that probably deserve it. I think it's just Disney's way of being safe. I have seen many kids walking around with signatures on their clothes. I think I might buy a plain white hooded sweatshirt for my kids and then have characters sign it the first few days

You need a 12x12 inch stiff hard cardboard

then fold the shirt so it has 1 layer of material over the cardboard

They need the FATEST Sharpie pen possible ,for the gloved characters

Be Patient Fuzzy characters have a harder time seeing out of there costume IE handlers!!

We used a character shirt of the Character we wanted to sign the shirt

Light colors shirts are the very best white is better than say black

!!!At home ask your Michael's hobby shop how to set the signatures!!!!!! very important!!
I didn't now and washed the Mutant Turtles signatures and about lost all the signatures!

Treat the shirt with care

Also..if you give the character a BIG sharpie... they can hold it better.
