Characters/performers: different kind of question

Can anyone tell me:does Disney have an age restriction for character/performers? Obviously, princesses/fairies/princes will be required to have a certain look/youthfulness, but haven't I seen older characters (i.e. fairy godmother, or is she the only one? Also, I would not imagine that it should matter with costumed characters, as long as one can pass the audition/required movements? Anyone have these facts? I am not fairy godmother age, but I am not 20, either

Lady Tremaine is somewhere in between the princesses and the fairy godmother. Closer to the fairy godmother in age, I'd say. I will say that I have seen Mary Poppins and some days, she looks much older than others

I'm sure that with costumed characters it might make less of a difference. If you make a really good Goofy and you're the right size, I don't see why you couldn't be Goofy at 20 or 30 or 40, etc.

The only age requirement is 16 and above.

PS - the age of the character typically has no relation to the performer, so I wouldn't worry about that. It's all about the "look."

This is so true and it's funny because on the auditions website I've seen it say "must portray x many years old (the character's age) yet I've never seen a face character actually look that age. For example, never seen a 16yr old looking Jasmine or a 19yr old looking Tiana. There is also no such thing as a 12 year old Alice with a 12 year old performer or one that even looks that young...at least I don't think.
