Characters on stern of Disney Fantasy will be Dumbo and Timothy the mouse

Disney just posted photos of the stern characters of the Fantasy on their facebook page - it's a flying Dumbo with Timothy the mouse in his hat with a paintbrush.

I think all of the DCL hull art is brilliant! Dave, you and I were in the D23 Expo "Desiging the Disney Cruise Lines" presentation a few weeks ago. Shouldn't this have been announced at that time rather than a few weeks later? The whole reason for the Expo is supposedly for announcements like this.

I am looking forward to seeing this on PCC 4.0!

Michael, first (and most importantly), I wish I knew you and Carol where at the "Designing DCL" presentation at the Expo. I was so dissapointed I didn't get to see you two during the weekend. Another time... I just need to come out to the WDFM to see you all.

Anyhow, seems like this was typical of the Disney Parks & Resorts presentations at the D23 Expo. They announced very little new. Last week they announced on the blog the new role playing game coming to the Magic Kingdom. Why didn't they announce that at the Expo either?

It seems like Parks & Resorts made the decision to save the announcements for their blog, and roll them out on a different timeline. It's disappointing that they couldn't have given their biggest and most avid fanbase some exclusive access.

I hope these show up better in real life than Sorcerer Mickey does on the stern of the Dream. Val & I were commenting as we returned to the ship on Castaway Cay that Mickey just doesn't stand out well enough.

Just throwing fuel on the fire Michael - soooo, DCL Imagineering had this video in their back pocket during the D23 Expo, and they couldn't have told us that Dumbo was going to be the stern character for the Fantasy? Lame...

And it gets better! Shortly after the D23 Expo Disney also announced Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom at WDW and the Fantasyland Stage at Disneyland, currently the Princess Fantasy Faire, would revert back to stage performances when Carnation Plaza Gardens are replaced with our tiny Fantasyland expansion.

Clearly they had to know all of this at the time of the Expo.
