And we took a little break for some great pastries!
We got Baklava, and this other kind (don't remember the name of it), but it really good!

Absolutely gorgeous pictures of the flowers and topiaries! They really outdid themselves this year, the colors were bright and fabulous.

More of our Epcot day!!

A couple of treats DD spotted that she wanted to try:

This one was really good from Japan. Here's the description:
"Frushi - Fresh strawberries, pineapple and cantaloupe rolled with coconut rice atop a raspberry sauce sprinkled with toasted coconut and whipped cream $4.50"

077_zps7c66191d.jpg

And this (can't remember what it was and I didn't try it):

And we decided to eat here:

As we left, after we finished eating, we came out as the band was playing:

And we strolled around some more, enjoying the beautiful topiaries and flowers!

I thought this was really neat!
Here's a short description: "Also be sure to check out the replica of the Terracotta Army. The figures, dating from 210 BC, were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers near Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor."

101_zpsdfeedd7a.jpg

Then we watched the show, "Reflections of China". I always like the show, even though it makes me a little dizzy!!

More Epcot scenery:

We made our way to The Land. We went to the Circle of Life theatre. I really enjoyed it! It was the first time we've seen it!

And we used our fastpasses for Soarin!
I love this ride!

How was the frushi? Looks tasty.

All the topiaries are so cool, it's amazing what they can do.

I've never seen a marching band playing at Epcot, how fun.

That was pretty neat, to have the marching band go by, as we came out of the restaurant!

Awesome (and busy!) start to you vacation. Can't wait to read more about it.

Thanks! We loved our Epcot day!

That frushi looks delicious!!! :thumbsup2

It was very delicious!!!

More Epcot!

We made our way around to Spaceship Earth, where it was a small line, but constantly moving. I think it was about a 10 minute wait.

111_zps85bd62d5.jpg

Having a little fun. Don't know what happened to DD's head! :rotfl:

We then made our way towards Test Track.

First, a little back story, though.

A few years ago, I was feeling really nervous, but got on Test Track, planning to ride. Just as the car started up the hill, I had a little panic attack, and I really had to exit the car, right then & there! Luckily a CM was close by, and let me exit. I was so embarrassed and felt bad, as I got out & waited on DD (because she wanted to stay on & ride).

I have a history of anxiety/panic attacks, but they're not really as frequent now, as they were in the past. I only have maybe 1-2 episodes a year now. But in the past, it was an awful, frequent experience, even having to go to the ER several times.

As we've visited WDW over the years, I have slowly made my way to brave most of the rides. For the first couple of years we went, I would not get on EE, Space Mountain, Dinosaur, or BTMRR. But now I LOVE those rides and have no problem! BUT I still can't bring myself to ride Rock n Rollercoaster, ToT, or Mission Space, that's the only ones left that I can't do!;)

But we do get a little laugh from the first Test Track episode, now that it's long behind me!! :lmao:

So now onto THIS trip and Test Track!! I made my way to the line, still unsure of this. I even got a little nervous, as the cars when by, with their ZOOOM'ing noises! But I just went through the line, calmly, not thinking about it, but determined to ride it, FOR my daughter!!! :rotfl2:

128_zpsa1aff892.jpg

Joking with DD, I told her to design the slowest, Grandma car for me! :lmao:

129_zps14b38975.jpg

And I did it!! And actually loved it! I was so glad that I made it, and we had a good laugh through the entire ride!

130_zpsa6f8df39.jpg

I think I made my DD proud, at that moment!! :rotfl2:

So, now, onto a calmer, more peaceful ride:

The Nemo ride was walk on, no waiting!!

132_zpsc8f86643.jpg

133_zpsfcfaff79.jpg

And then we decided to end our Epcot day a little early!

135_zps16de4e65.jpg

And from there we went to DTD!!

As we arrived, I took out the ultimate coupon! :rotfl:

136_zps267a5cf4.jpg

My birthday was about a week before our trip, so I had this handy coupon that was emailed to me from Earl of Sandwich!

137_zps057043bd.jpg

Yummy AND free!

140_zpsd0930352.jpg

And then for dessert, we had Ghiradeli! We both got a chocolate caramel sundae, but I got the one with "sea salt caramel":

144_zps20bfa75a.jpg

Just look at the salty caramely good-ness!! :lmao:

145_zpse863adae.jpg

And we made our way to a little shopping before we called it a day!!

Wednesday, May 7th, 2014: Magic Kingdom day!!

Before heading out for the day, we took a quick walk around the resort:

On this day, we decided to take the Disney bus!

155_zps1cb44cd8.jpg

157_zps922e53d3.jpg

And yet again, I'm reminded why I really do not like the transportation buses!!! We always use our own car, (or rental when we fly), because the few times that we've taken the bus, I always say, "never again!" But I wanted to take a chance this time, with it being lower crowd levels. I really wanted to jump out of the bus, as we were crammed in like sardines, as the bus driver repeated many times,
"If you can see the floor, there's room for more!!" :lmao:

And for a person with the slightest chance of having a panic attack, this was not the place! :rotfl:

Thankfully we made it to MK safe and sound!

A great visit has to start out right, with a meeting with the Mayor and this lovely lady!

I wanted to get to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train first thing, just in case of an early soft opening, but of course, no luck with that!! But it was neat finally seeing it complete after the years of construction!

177_zpsab08a041.jpg

And we made our way to Gaston's for a late breakfast!

179_zpseb14f195.jpg

So yummy!!

180_zps02848e51.jpg

Love the pics of Pop! I just love that resort...seeing all the different icons and all the different colors is so cool! The PlayDoh is my favorite!

We almost always take the bus to the parks, but I've never heard a driver say that. My goodness. I'm all about trying to make room for others, but I also like to have my personal space. I'm glad you didn't panic and that the ride went okay!

Breakfast looks yummy! Gaston's Tavern is such a neat place. Sorry you didn't get to ride the Mine Train!:sad1:

If you can see the floor there's more room! :scared1: we always take the buses but one of these days I want to rent a car and see the difference.

Bummer about the Mine Train. Did you finalize a Fall trip? I'll be curious what you think, it was too short for me.

Gaston's looks yummy!
