Characters at the Resorts?

Hi Everyone,

I know that the new thing instead of early entry is that the characters come to the Disney Resorts on select days. Has anyone experienced this yet? Is it that exciting? Are there quite a few characters or just one or two? Is there a mob of people wanting to meet them?

We stayed at POR Feb3-17th.The character caravan came Mon,Wed,Fri..There were 4 characters each time we went and we were in and gone within 10 to 15 minutes,seeing all of the characters for autographs and pictures.There is really no CM controlling the lines,as everytime my kids turn came I was always directing kids to the back of the line who just ran up to the character.Most parents were there and kept in line with their kids or one parent held a spot in the longest line while the other parent took the kids thru the short lines.I never did this but the lines were so short it was not an issue.I did feel sorry for the kids behind us for captain hook as we were the last ones to get to see him(the line was quite long)They were not impressed.I found the characyers did come a bit early thus left early,so you may want to get there before the time posted.The characters time was 7:55-8:25 and again at 8:55-9:25,at POR each resort has it's own time.It was the same characters both times.We did not go the first week the second week we went wed. saw Timon,The King from Jungle book,Raffiki,and Goofy
On the Friday we saw Minnie mouse ,Captain Hook,one of Captain Hook's men(sorry I can't remember his name)I do know as we were running thru the lobby the first Friday we were there Minnie Mouse was there,but we had to get to Grand Adventures in cooking so we did not stop(she is my dd favorite)so it makes me wonder if the Characters do change from week to week.If you let me know what resort you are staying at I can post the days for your character caravan as I still have my list.

We were at CS last week and my son really enjoyed meeting the characters at the resort. There were 4 characters on the 2 days we were there. Day 1 - Goofy, Timon, Rafiki and Robin Hood. Day 2 - Queen of Hearts, Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, Chip & Dale. There were no lines when we were there. We always went to see the first bus at 8:10 and there were maybe 3 or 4 children there.

We saw the characters at the Polynesian at the beginning of February. I actually enjoyed it as there were not many people in line to see the characters so the kids were able to get pictures and autographs in a short amount of time. I don't remember the days or times and we did not plan to see them, they just happened to be their on our way to transportation. The characters we saw in those two days were Pluto, Foulfellow, Gideon, Minnie, Rafiki, Baloo. There may have been 2 others but we did not get their autographs so I don't remember who they were. I am not happy that this replaced EE but it would have been a nice addition to EE days.

Thanks for all the info! Sounds pretty interesting, but I still think they should have kept EE in addtion to the characters.
