Characters at Disneyland that aren't at Disney World? Special 60th anniversary characters?

We are making two autograph quilts (one for each kid) and have about 70 different autographs so far. We were going to stop there but since this is our first time going to Disneyland, we were wondering if there are any characters there that we wouldn't normally find at Disney World?
And are there any rare/special characters out that are making a return for the 60th anniversary?

TIA!!

I love the quilt idea! I'm not super knowledgeable about the different characters in the different parks and I've only ever been to DLR, but here's what I can think of off the top of my head:
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is at DCA
Some Up! characters are at the Wilderness Trail in DCA
The Marvel heroes, Captain America and Thor, are in Tomorrowland

Oh, and they now have the pre-parade for Inside Out, so you can see some of those characters now, but I'm not sure if they will have Meet 'n Greets.

None of the above are for the 60th anniversary. I'm sure others will chime in as well if they know of any others.

Have fun!

I haven't seen or read about them bringing out any older characters for the 60th. The classic characters (e.g., Mickey, Minnie, etc.) do have special outfits for the 60th. I've seen them meeting guests in Town Square in the new outfits.

In terms of unique characters, along with the ones mentioned by Angrose, the Cars characters (McQueen, Mater, and Red) meet near the Cozy Cones, but they don't sign autographs. Depending on when you were last at WDW, Olaf meets guests in DCA. I also don't know if they sign autographs, but I've seen Meeko, Koda, and Kenai at Storytellers breakfast. There are also a lot of free roaming characters that may not be common at WDW, but it's hard to predict if you'll see them because they don't have a fixed location or schedule (e.g., Stormtroopers in TL, Mary Poppins and Bert, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Captain Hook, the Evil Queen, etc.).

Another one that came to mind were Tinkerbelle's fairy friends. Tinkerbelle meets at Pixie Hollow and she usually meets with at least one other fairy. I saw Silvermist back in November and she signed autographs. Others have reported seeing other of her friends, so you won't know in advance who you'll see with Tink, but you may see one of the less common faries (less common at WDW, I mean).

We saw Rafiki and Max at the Minnie and friends breakfast. Sully was in DCA but he doesn't sign autographs.

Also Genie was in Frontierland with Jasmine and Alladin.

These were all this week.

Koda and Kenai don't sign, but Meeko does.
koda and Kenai must have been to school, they signed autographs when we meet then a couple weeks ago.

In addition to the characters mentioned above we saw Cruella. Well, we also saw Peter Pan but he meets in WDW so he isn't unique.

I'm getting ready to go to DL for the first time and I've watched a lot of YouTube videos to get ready. I've been to WDW a few times but I'm by no means an expert. Characters that I've seen in DL videos who I've never seen at WDW include Pinnochio, Cruella Deville, the Evil Queen, the Mad Hatter, Genie, Roger Rabbit, Hook is rare in WDW and Bert. There are probably others, and I don't know how common these DL characters are. They're just characters I've seen in videos.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that they were wearing the new outfits.

Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy have cool 1920's / 1930's outfits on when they meet on Buena Vista Street in DCA. I love them!

I saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip & Dale in their 60th outfits during the 24-hour day (see this post for photos). I'm pretty sure Donald and Daisy also got special outfits as well, but I didn't see them.

As ADLFAN mentioned, Mickey and friends have cute 1920s outfits on BVS. Along with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, I've also seen Donald (though, not recently) and Chip & Dale.

I've read that Flick meets in Bug's Land, but I haven't run across him (although, I don't spend a lot of time in Bug's Land).

Yes, Donald and Daisy also have special 60th outfits. I saw Daisy at the 24hr day and just saw Donald last week, both in Town Sq. Donald also has a sailor outfit for his meet 'n greet over by Ariel's Grotto/Cove Bar in DCA.

You can see Pinnochio taking part in the little band/dance number they do in front of the castle around 11am each day. I am assuming they still do that.

I figured Donald and Daisy also had to have 60th anniversary outfits! It wouldn't be fair to them if they didn't get one when all of the other core classic characters got something. :rotfl: I have to admit that it took me a moment to figure out what had changed for Pluto (the collar isn't quite as obvious as the whole new outfits on the others). :rotfl:

Pluto got also some "bling" on his dog tag with some rhinestones along with the pretty new blue collar :)
