We are booked for a character tea during our visit next week. On various websites I have read conflicting reviews on what food is on offer - some say only sweet stuff and some say some savouries too. Just wondering if we will need to have dinner aswell if it is all sweet. Can someone who has been recently comment?

Hi Eliza!
We were at the teaparty 10 days ago.
We'd gone for the 3.30 option so we could fit in tea later if we wanted to.
My DD and I didn't eat later, we just had a small snack from the food we'd taken with us. My friend had to take her son to McD's in the evening as he is a pickier eater and had eaten less at the tea-party.

There was both sweet and savoury to choose from although not a huge variety of savoury. It seemed like breakfasty options for savoury as there were sausages, potato shaped into triangles, mini omelettes, and what I thought was going to be pasties but they where actually sausage and ketchup inside. I can't remember if there were any other savouries.
The food was reasonable for the price when you go knowing the chatacter interaction is what you're really there for.

Hi,

We were there a couple of weeks ago, also at the 3.30 sitting. There was some savoury food, and plenty of gorgeous cakes. We did eat out in the evening as well though, as we didn't eat that much as we were too busy getting autographs and photos with the characters.

The sausage rolls incl. ketchup were a real hit with the kids!

Thanks for that. Sounds great - I'll try to get the kids to fill up on tea and won't plan on dinner. Mine are picky eaters too. DS(6) doesn't even like McDonalds. Luckily DH is the human dustbin - he'll eat everyones left overs.

hi im glad someone has been recently as im thinking of booking this as a surprise when we go in may this year. has anyone booked this after they have booked their holiday to DLP? what times are the sittings usually please?

The sittings in early April are at 3.30pm and 5.00pm. We are going to the 5.00pm so that we don't miss the parade. We should finish just in time for candlabration at 6.00pm. I was advised to turn up 10 mins before. You can book by calling the restaurant reservation number.

hi please write all about the character tea party once you return from your trip....needs to know all about the yummy cakes on offer.:woohoo: :woohoo:
