All those uncontrolled meet'n'greets... :scared1: Don't want to do this again, because all this pushing and rudeness of other people  And I'm bringing my younger DS this time, so I have to watch two kids this time.

We'll be doing Inventions for character dinner, so I do hope to get some character pictures and autographs. Also hotel does have the morning meet'n'greet, might be worth, but again - I don't want to miss EMH :goodvibes

Last year we went to a organized meet'n'greet with Pooh. I saw there was one with Mickey. Mostly we caught characters after morning parades. But all this pushing :scared1:

I remember that first day we accidentally bumped into Mickey and Goofy in Adventure land. Was this some kind of random meet'n'greet? Are there more like this? There were just few people around, no pushing, so wonderful.

You can do EMH for an hour or so and then head back to HNY (which is where I think you're staying?) for breakfast. The characters in the lobby will still be there until about 11am if I remember rightly. There is never a big queue and they alternate every 30 minutes - so you might end up meeting the ones you want at the hotel :thumbsup2

Another way to try and see Mickey, is to pop into the Disneyland Hotel during breakfast hours - 7 - 11am. The characters are just outside the restaurant area, on the first floor. Again with minimal wait.

If you're eating in Inventions I'd say it's a safe bet that you'll meet Mickey there too.

We tend to avoid the scrums in the park - not worth it unless it's someone you really, really want to see.

Last year I was very nice at first, but got a lesson that you mustn't be nice  But we managed to meet lots of characters, this time I probably will settle for less but queued and organized ones.

We can walk into any hotel for morning meet'n'greet, right?

the organised meets in the studios are usually much smaller lines than in the main park. there is one as you enter the front lot, one for Sully, one for Buzz in Toon Studios and often other characters there too (there are 2 stages). sometimes they use the stage for Cars n Stars for roped meet n greets as well. check your programme when you arrive for the times and locations of these :goodvibes.

Do characters still come out in the afternoons in DLH. If they do that could be an option for you. It was on my list of things to do next year but we never got there.

Oh, we definitely will do Sully and Buzz meet'n'greet. We didn't manage get a pic with Lilo and Stich because of pushing people. How can I know what characters will be there? The program doesn't say? And are characters always the same?

And how come we met Mickey and Goofy in Adventure land (we walked off Robinson tree and just around a corner...) :confused3

I would definitely recommend popping into the DLH to see if they still do the afternoon show. When we were there last March it was on at 4pm, Thursday to Sunday. Several characters did a dance down the stairs to music then a dance round the reception area with all the children. There were lots of opportunities to meet n greet afterwards too - poor Pinocchio had no one with him at all at one point!

when the parks are quiet its not that unusual to find characters in random places with no-one around them, especially in Adventureland I've found.

They were still doing it in November, but I can't remember the times anymore.

There's a gladd bo with info and promotional material next to the large stairs. This has a flyer with the times.

thanks, I'm definitely going to check other hotels and pop in DLH for sure.

Last year we saw loads of characters just out and about we saw Areil, Tiana,Cinderlla, Suzy and Perla all by its a small world then we saw smee, eyoree, Pluto, gheppetto, sheriff of Nottingham and friar tuck by casey junior and the boat ride and later we saw mushu and Mulan and gaston there was also marry poppins with burt, cruella, mickey and Minnie, elvis stitch and others like Donald etc all with hardly any one there that was scattered through the studios all about 11am we never experienced any pushing apart from captain jack sparrow that was a lot later in the day though x

Jack Sparrow is the one I definitely want to meet this time :goodvibes

Could of brought a bt of him home for you Elsie pulled his dredlock an had a bit in her hand lol!

To be fair it was only bad because his CM said 5 more mibs then he was going it was like 5pm so that was probably it for the day x

I just hope I get a chance to see him. Last time POC was closed, so looking forward this time. I think organized meet'n'greets, hotels morning meet'n'greets will be fine.

We never had any problems any where the arranged meet and greets scared me I couldn't ever que that long to see mickey mouse knowing we could see him at cafe mickey and have a lot longer with him in a nice environment x

Those uncontrolled meet'n'greets after parade are just nuts :lmao:

It really annoyed me and I have never bothered with the character express since and now they are cancelling it I never will see it again x

As you have kids yes - for solo travelling adults I am not that convinced anymore.

Last month first at the line to meet Mickey and Minnie the CM told the family behind me it was their turn and completely ignored me. When I said "Umm... sorry, it would have been my turn now." he looked at me like I was something that he was about to scrap of his shoe and told me that the line was for kids only. I was totally flabbergasted. Thank god Mickey noticed the exchange and came and took me over to the photo spot, otherwise I am not sure how I would have reacted.

Then I decided to peek in the DLH on my way to the park. White Rabbit was out. I got in line to take a picture and when it was my turn he shook his head no. When I went pretty much "WTFBBQ?" he held his hand up as high as my hip and nodded and then held his hand as high as my head and shook his head.

Before someone asks yes, I did try to complain both times and was met with the "sorry, but I don't understand you" routine.

I am really shocked that you had such a tough time trying to meet the characters I have never bothered with meeting characters before we had DD as I always wanted to be on the thrill rides it never even occurred to me that adults waited to see charcters but last year we saw lots of adults meeting charcters and they were all really enjoying themselves!
