Can anyone help (silly question, I know)

Goofy, Lilo and Stitch or Chip and Dale.

I was wondering which one are breakfast and which ones are lunch/dinner.
Also which has the best food selection, value for money, character interaction and atmosphere! (also prices and how far ahead to book, we go in November)

Any help very much appreciated!

(I know these have been discussed before but I had a few questions!)

Goofys offers all 3 meals while the other two are only breakfast. I've only been to Goofys, but the food has always been good and I've always had a great time.

I've heard raves about the Lilo & Stitch food, good with a bit of Hawaiian twist thrown in. (One item was pineapple-coconut scones?) And that Stitch is very funny, good interaction.

Goofy's Kitchen seems to get mixed reviews on the food, though I think it was more for the buffet presentation rather than the food itself. Some people did mention they preferred dinner over breakfast. It sounds like there is a bit of a show put on by the characters as well as interaction at each table, and very lively. (If you're looking for quiet and sedate, this is probably not the place to go.)

I think the food at Chip & Dale's breakfast had good reviews, but all of the characters are animals (ie. from the Brother Bear movie) and my boys would not know any of them.

We had planned to have a Lilo & Stitch breakfast, and a Goofy's Kitchen dinner. I'm in the process of re-scheduling our trip, and revisiting the info on the character meals. It seems the Minnie & Friends breakfast usually has Winnie the Pooh characters, which my younger son would love...

Booking 60 days in advance..

this website is a guide to the menus...

I think it is stuck on the Lilo and stitch. We like that one as we can eat off the menu or buffet.

HTH!

we just went to lilo & stitch breakfast when we were there. they had an omelet station, where you can have the chef make various omelets. had typical breakfast items, and a bit of more "heartier" type food (taquitos, hawaiian cooked salmon, rice, etc.) the food was good. DH ordered off the menu while our DSs & i did the buffet. they have these activities every 30 minutes or so, where the kids can go up to this area, and play around w/stitch, or learn the hula, or whatever. and the characters kinda roam around here & there.

at goofy's it's more of a party atmosphere. food was good there also. but w/a lot more variety! and i think it's more $$ at goofy's. every 30 minutes or so, they have this really loud music & all the kids rush over to the main buffet area, and they dance & go wild & crazy. we've always sat away from there, in the back where the big windows are...so we heard the music, and the loud commotions, but it was ok. i think if you're seated near that area, it tends to get loud every now & then...just a thought.

the interactions depends on whether the room is packed or not. we found that when there's more people, the characters would spend less time w/us. but when it was not that crowded, they'd stay longer. (i guess they have to make their rounds)

i'm sure whichever character meal you decide, you'd have a great time!! good luck w/your decision. :flower:

We've only done Goofy's, so far, and that was for breakfast. It was a lot of fun. Every few minutes, a character would come over, and we could get an autograph and pose for pictures. In fact, the two pictures in my signature were at Goofy's kitchen. Max at our table with my ds, and Goofy with my dd on our way out.

It's true, every 30 minutes, Goofy come out with a bunch of plastic pots and pans. He sets the plastic tubs they are in on the floor, and the music begins. The first 1 or 2 times, we just watched everyone play. The last time, we were getting ready to leave, but waited for Goofy to come out first, so the kids could have fun with him. It was a blast. I'll have to see if I can dig up a picture or two.

Oh, and the food was good, too. We were a late breakfast, so they were starting to put out lunch things, too. They had something for everyone. I do think Goofy's is the most expensive, but from what I have heard, it's one of the best interactions. This time around, in August, we are planning on a Princess Celebration Dinner in Ariel's Grotto, and breakfast at the Plaza. But the more I thought about it, the more I didn't want to leave without going to Goofy's. So, we will likely have breakfast there on the day we are leaving. Goofy's is just too much fun!

The food was pretty good but the character interaction only so-so. It wasn't really busy so I was expecting more interaction. When I inquired about it, I was told they come out according to a schedule and Chip and Dale do not come out together! They cross paths but they will not pose for pictures together - THAT was a little disappointing. Next time, I think we'll try Goofy's Kitchen or Plaza Inn.

How odd that Chip & Dale can't/won't pose for pictures together! :confused3

I wanted to point out one more thing about character interaction. Every once in awhile you'll read a post where someone had a bad experience; no one came to their table, or didn't stay long, or the child's favorite character missed their table, whatever. But for each one of those there are tons of satisfied customers, so I don't think any one place has repeatedly bad character interaction, I think they're all usually very good about that.

In choosing which one to attend, I chose mainly by the characters that typically appear at the meal. For the prices you're paying, you want good character interaction with your kids! After that, if there's a show, if the food is great, to me that's a bonus.

Both Chip and Dale were at Goofy's when we went, but they came seperately there, too. Ds and I found them together in ToonTown, though, and they signed the same page in his autograph book.

Kids?, Oh, you must mean my Husband and I!! :rotfl2:

Thanks everyone for you help!
I think I would like Lilo and Stitch as he is my hero but Matt likes Chip and Dale , and they always make me laugh whatever they do! (We once sat under WDW Main Street Station and watched them interact for about 30 mins)

I think I'll check out the menu and character lists before deciding!

 I just assumed you had kids since you were doing a character meal, my apologies! :rotfl:

It sounds to me like you might have to do TWO meals to make sure you each get to visit with your favorite characters!

No need to apologise, :goodvibes we do the character meals as it is a great way to meet the characters without having to fight with the kids or stand in line for ages and you get fed and watered at the same time! We are just a childless couple who love our character meals and do one every Disney trip!

Well, I'd vote for Storytellers mostly because I love their breakfast buffet (where do they get that bacon? love the grilled asparagas and OH the french toast!) . I think their food quality is the best, though Goofy's has more variety. I had one of my all time best character interactions there with Keani (sp). I still have the love note he wrote me "Keani (heart) you and fish!"

Oh, but I had my second best all time character interaction at Goofy's with Rafiki......you know what? Do BOTH ::yes:: And the third best one was there also, with Alladin.

You know, I just realized that the very best character interactions I've had, have been at DLR restaurants, over the parks and all my WDW experiences. You think it's because California has a bigger talent pool to draw from? I've also found that the best experiences were the ones where I put a bit of thought into asking the charaters questions that allowed the CM to 'play' within their role (Alladin did a wonderful explanation of how 'carpet' knew how to get wherever they want it to take them).

Can't wait to run into Captain Jack Sparrow in the park next month! pirate:

We prefer Goofy's Kitchen, we usually do a breakfast. The food is good, as for price, well they are all a bit on the pricey side. I've gotten some of the best Character pictures there. Everyone from Princesses, to Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale (separate also), Max, Alice. I got the best picture of Pluto "licking" my son on the head, and he also wrapped his mouth around his head like he was "eating" him. So adorable. I've never gotten such great pics in the park.

We ate at the Storytellers Cafe for dinner a few years ago, we didn't see any characters, but maybe they come out for breakfast only? The food was also good, but we found it way too expensive for the things we ate. The buffet at Goofy's Kitchen to made it worth the price since you can eat all you want.

So do a Goofy dinner the first day after checkin and Lilo and Stitch morning of checkout??? We like to do Chef Mickey at WDW first nite and have always tried to get to Lilo and Stitch at Polynesian (a daughter used to work at Poly) never got there , anyhoo does anyone know how they compare????? Hmmmm, the Hawaiian menu looks kinda different from our "local"food ,guess we will cruise on over and check it out, thanks. : :stitch: :stitch2:

Yes, the only charcter meal at Storyteller's is breakfast. We saw Meeko from Pocahantes, the bears from borther bear, and chip and dale. The only character meal we've never tried is at Plaza Inn. But I'd rank Goofy's for dinner and Lilo & Stitch for breakfast as the top 2. Both have activities for kids during your meal. The great thing about Lilo & Stitch and Storyteller's for breakfast is that if you're not a big buffet eater, you could order off the menu for half the price of a buffet.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the great hint! So lets see kids at buffet and dh and I off menu??? AND fun games for kids??? Coconut rolling anyone???? :yay: :Pinkbounc

So, it sounds like Goofy and Lilo and Stitch are the character meals of choice. DH and I are going (possibly with another couple). I think it would be fun. If you were going with all adults, what would be your first choice? sounds like the Goofy meals are quite noisy....

I have never been to the Lilo and Stitch buffet but I have been to Goofy's and Storytellers...I feel the food at Goofys and storytellers (as far as the buffet goes) is basically the same...I dont like their sausages for some reason :confused3 coffee is fabulous and when I went to storytellers I kept saying to my server how good the coffee was and when we got ready to leave he brought me a take out cup of coffee to go  I know you didnt say anything about the Plaza Inn but I have to tell you that personally, I think that one is the way to go...I love their food (even the sausages) and the characters are not just animals, or just from one story...they range from Minnie Mouse to Pooh and Eeyore to Pluto...I favor this one for breakfast over any of the other ones

We have been to all three breakfasts and our favorites are the Storytellers and Lilo and Stitch. The food is good at all of them.

At storytellers you can order off the menu if you choose. We have always had awesome character interaction at Storytellers. Chip and Dale have alway come out together and so has Pluto. We have been going to DL for the last five years and have eaten at Storytellers for 4 of those years. We usually go in June/July. This is my boys favorite breakfast to eat at. They love Chip and Dale. They have a lot of fun with them.

We did Lilo and Stitch last year and will be going back again this year as well as Storytellers. There was a lot of character interaction with the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. Daisy, Minnie, Lilo and Stitch were all there when we went last June. The food was good as well.
