We are going to WDW in July '06 and would love some recommendations on the character meals. We have 2 girls, ages 9 and 3. Last time we went was on Oct. 2000 and we had breakfast with Pooh and the gang.

We were there December, '05, my DS is 6 and my twin DD's are 2 - they LOVED Chef Mickey's for dinner (we were unable to get breakfast ressies). They liked the food, the characters were very attentive, and the party was AWESOME. Two months later my kids still like to wave their napkins around if we're listening to music while we eat!

Have a great time!

We had 2 on our trip. Donald's Resterantasourus in AK and Lilo and Stitch at Ohana's. Lilo and Stitch was by far the stand out. Mickey and Pluto were also there. Stitch was so funny. He drank from our glasses, sat in my chair and threw grapes at my kids. :rotfl2: We had a ball! Lilo did a little hula dance with my DD. So cute.

Definitely would recommend Chef Mickey's. We went there last year on my DD's 5th birthday and had a great time. We're going again in about 2 weeks for DD's 6th birthday, I'm so excited. This coming trip we have ADR's at 1900 Park Fare for dinner, so my daughter can see Cinderella, and then we have Donald's Breakfastosaurus also.

In 2001 we did the Princess breakfast at MK, it was a big hit, but very expensive and hard to book. In 2003 we did Ancurshus Princess breakfast in Epcot. Food was excellent and not as crowded. My daughters liked it so much that they insisted we go back to Ancurshus and not MK!!! We also like lunch with Pooh (Crystal Palace) because it is not too crowded and they offer a buffet.

My older boys, 6 and 8, LOVE the Crystal Palace and Winnie the Pooh. Don't let my, 8 going on 30 year old fool you either. He was just as happy as my Pooh addict 6 year old. They both have begged me to back there. The food is good too but honestly it could have been dog food and they would not have noticed.

Tigger, Piglet, Pooh and the wonderful Eyeore!

Character breakfasts are our quest this year!

We had done Chef Mickey a couple years ago and enjoyed it (will be going again in April).

So far this year we have done the Storybook Princess B-fast at Norway, Donald's breakfast at AK and Goofy's Breakfast at Cape May Cafe, Beach Club Resort.

We enjoyed all of them, but for us the favorite was Cape May Cafe! It was quieter, and although the interaction with the characters was good at all, it was the best at Cape May!

Off to O'Hana's for my b-day breakfast this Saturday, and 1900 Park Fare on 3/5 for DDs' birthday!

I love character meals but like to keep the week simple and flexible.

Instead of CRT (expensive heavy breakfast) I like the Princess breakfast in Norway.
Crystal Palace is a repeat EVERY year for us. We just love it.
This year we'll do Liberty Tree Tavern for a dinner character breakfast.

I have a friend whose girls LOVE 1900 Park Fare, but I haven't tried it yet.

Have fun!

My vote....for Chef Mickey's for Mickie, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy, Donald

1900 Park Fare....for Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Suzy, Perla, Prince Charming

We did 5 different character meals during our trip last month.
The above 2 restaurants had the best character interaction.

DD11 loved 1900 Park Fare!

Our standards are Chef Mickeys, Liberty Tree Tavern, & Crystal Palace. Love the atmosphere at CM, the food at LTT (the strawberry viniagrette salad is awesome!) and the early park entry breakfasts at CP

We are going in July also and I have 3 daughters that will be 10, 7 & 3 when we go. We are doing the castle breakfast, the Hoop De Do (which we always do), and O'hana for breakfast. We have done Crystal Palace in the past, which is good also.

Our favorites are dinner at Chef Mickeys, Garden Grill, & Liberty Tree Tavern. I also really like breakfast at 1900 Park Fair.

We went to the Crystal Palace for lunch and the Garden Grill for Dinner. They were both fabulous! The Cystal Palace was a buffet and the Garden Grill was served family style. The food was great at both and the service and Characters were wonderful.

Our last trip was the first time we have ever done character dining thanks to the meal plan and we did Donald's Breakfast and Liberty Tree Tavern and I was very very pleasantly surprised and impressed with Liberty Tree, the characters came to our table reapeatedly and really interacted with the kids and adults both alot. pixiedust: princess:

We're doing both of those for the 1st time on our trip in May and we can't wait!! :cheer2:

my oldest still wonders what all the hype is about. They would much rather breakfast at either 1900PF or Crystal Palace.

It isn't as big a deal now, since the princesses are older. However, when they were younger we really enjoyed the "family style" meals better than the buffets. With the buffets, we never got a chance to sit all together and relax. One of us would have to escort the girls every time they wanted something, as well as when we wanted something. With the "family style" dining we still had the opportunity to make choices, but the server did all the work for us. In light of that, we have grown to love Garden Grill (we never experienced the short-lived change of last year) lunches or dinners. We have found this meal to be a perfect balance between character fun and fairly relaxing atmosphere, not to mention good food.

Honorable mentions: LTT (dinner), 'Ohana (breakfast)

Another vote for Cape May breakfast. It seemed much less hectic than other character meals we had done, and the interaction was great. You didn't feel like a character was about to run away to the next table.
