I have 5 small children and want to find character meals that they would like. I currently have Chef Mickey's Bkfst and Crystal Place for lunch but not sure what else to add?

Boys or Girls??

Your girls would like Akershus, as you can meet the princesses there, but it is pricey - are you on the DDP?

For either sex you could also do:
- Tuskerhouse - DD liked this one
- 1900 Park Fare - the best one IMHO, it is Cinderella, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, Drizella and Prince Charming. The charater interaction here is amazing and very entertaining.

This time we are trying the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast and the Lilo and Stitch Breakfast at O'hanas.

Oh, O'hanas is fun for dinner too, there are no characters, but there is a lady who hula dances with all of the kids. DD loved it (and DH loved the food!!)

I think you have done great so far Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace are both awesome choices.

Have a blast!!

Amy

We really enjoyed Crystal Palace on our last trip--I'm sure that your kids will love it.

I would also give Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom a look for a character breakfast. We haven't tried it yet, but had lunch there and both food and service were excellent.

O'Hanas for bfast was great!!!
Chef Mickeys is my absolute favorite!!!
I've heard good things about Mickeys backyard bbq -- but never done it.

If you're going to Hollywood Studios, I reccomend the Playhouse Disney Play & Dine meal (breakfast or lunch, we did lunch). It features Leo & June from Little Einsteins and Jojo & Goliath from Jojo's Circus. I really enjoyed the food there and was happy with our experience. That was our 1st of 2 character meals (also did Chef Mickey's which we LOVED) and were pretty happy with it! Good luck & have fun.

Also, it's not a character meal, but we enjoyed Whispering Canyon so much (at the Wilderness Lodge). It's such a fun setting and a great place for kids. My son STILL yells out for ketchup when he needs it.
:lmao:

We are going to be trying Whispering Canyon this time, what is the deal with asking for ketchup? You are not the first person I hear say something about the ketchup...please tell us!!
TIA

My son had a greatt ime at Whispering Canyon last year - be sure to do for dinner as that's the meal where there's the most fun.
The waiter just threw a bunch fo straws on the tabel with our drinks (DS loved opening an playig with them all). As far as the ketchup all the kethcup bottles stay together. So when you ask for ketchup the waiter yells out real loud "KETCHUP!" and the table with all the kethcup bottles has to bring them to you and then when the next table watns ketchup they yell again and you have to bring the bottles to them. My son just loved yelling out loud too when they called for kethcup. They also play a gome where the kids get to ride stick ponies and depending upon your waiter there's alot fo fun interaction.
It's just very loud and it's fun for kids to be able to be loud at a restaurant and the food is good.

As far as character meals I really like the breakfast at Cape May (Beach Club), DH really liked Holywood and Vine Breakfast. My least favorite was Tusker House as it felt too crowded and discombobulated to me. DS loved the Pooh Characters at Crystal Palace. Though expensive, my SIL said the castle breakfast was great - We didn't go as we only have a son and he's not into the Princesses. My son enjoyed all the character breakfasts.

My kids loved Crystal Palace when they were younger and they still love O'hana for breakfast. It is the one meal that they both agree is a must do in Sept when we go.

Crystal Palace has the best food at a character meal. The Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner has the best character interaction.

Liberty Tavern in MK........and the food was good.:thumbsup2

our experience and all were great
Cinderella's Castle Dinner
O'hanas breakfast
Chef Mickeys
Liberty tree Tavern - dinner
Crystal Palace - both lunch and diiner
Playhouse Disney Characters in DHS - lunch
Akerhaus - princess breakfast

We enjoyed 1900 Park Fare much more than I expected! We also enjoyed Garden Grill, but check to make sure you are going when the characters are there!

Just as an FYI - Liberty Tree Tavern no longer has character meals - I was told last year they were going to stop sometime - can't remember when. But I do agree it was a good character dinner.

Another :thumbsup2 for Whispering Canyon...milkshakes are included on the Dining Plan & you can get a different flavor each time you get a refill. I tried the strawberry & the orange flavors and the strawberry was AWESOME! Also, the salad was soooo yummy. I nearly licked the plate, I liked it so much!! :confused3:lmao:

Although I love Whispering Canyon they don't have characters there as the OP wanted. I would like to mention if you can get there early its a great place to walk around outside and there are some great picture taking spots!

Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club has a great character breakfast. Lots of good interaction and really good food.

I was also going to suggest Whispering Canyon!! I was not sure how little the kiddos are, but defintelly something to consider!!

We did Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's last year and the boys loved it - especially DS then 1.5. Mickey's Backyard BBQ sound great, but we have never been there! Having 3 boys we don't "do" the Princess meals, so I can't help you there! Good luck and be sure to check out Whispering Canyon!! :wizard:

The O'Hana breakfast is a must-do for us every time. The food is good, the juice is awesome, and the character interaction is great. Some of the characters act a bit silly, which engages my son who is now ten, and my daughter loves Mickey so she looks forward to his arrival at the table.

My two have aged out of Crystal Palace, and my son would hide under a paper bag at a Princess meal, so O'Hana pleases everyone...even the adults.
