dbf has never done one and i am considering it because we will have several MK days, which make chef mickey's, 1900 park fare, and CP all easy to get to and at least one or 2 days of rest where we can just go places.

are character meals worth it for adults? several posters have said that characters don't interact with adults as much and they gravitate towards the younger kids. that makes sense, but that would also make a character meal not really worth it for us.

what has your experience been?

I actually was at Crystal Palace for breakfast and had a blast! The Pooh characters were really fun and very rare throughout the park, which is part of the reason we chose to dine here! Also, if you do choose Crystal Palace, make sure you get one of the first ADRs! They open an hour before the park (I think..at least this was my ADR)! We went on July 4th last year and got WONDERFUL pictures of the castle before the HUGE crowds rolled in *you can only enter early by ADR...however, I did notice that they pretty much just took my word for it...*

Anyways, we did have two younger children, one was 11 and the other 6. But they are very shy and the characters interacted wonderfully with us! I go crazy around Piglet! Piglet blew me kisses and Tiger was hilarious, as always. They treated us no different, and in my opinion, they tried harder to make us laugh and hit it off with us! It was a great experience, and I really wanted to make every meal a character meal based off of this experience!

Oh, and when you have one of the first ADRs, you can see the characters twice or even three times. This happened to us *they were BOOKED UP! the children's parents (my aunt and uncle) wanted to surprise my mom (she was in charge of all of the ADRs) and we tried to get the reservation changed, or even find a table for two during that time and they didnt have anything open until much later in the day...AND they wouldnt help me alter the reservation at all..:headache:* SO it was packed, but def. didnt feel that way! They also seat people at every other table at the beginning as to give each person space!

I really enjoyed it and I think you will have an absolute blast! They were WONDERFUL around the adults! :thumbsup2

We recently went to Chef Mickey's for the first time and, while we enjoyed the food and some of the characters, we definitely were ignored a little. We found the same thing to be true the last time we were at Crystal Palace too unfortunately. However, we have been to CP several times so, while it was disappointing, it wasn't quite as upsetting as our first trip to CM's. I've been to 1900 for both meals and loved it both times. I like the differences in characters between breakfast and dinner and the food was pretty good at both meals. You could also consider Cinderella's Royal Table. The princesses usually make a big fuss over the men (although not like the sisters at 1900's dinner).

We have always including charcter meals in our itinerary since DD was small - she will be 17 this time and we have another 4 booked - agree with previous poster that 1900 Park Fayre dinner is a good one for adults - the sisters are looking for husbands! We were going to do less character meals but DD still loves them - maybe having a teen DD helps the interaction along a little bit, if you see what I mean. Doesnt help here but we had the best time a couple of weeks ago at Surfs Up breakfast (this is at DLR though)

I think it also really depends on the demeaner of the adults. If they act uncomfortable about the characters, they pick up on it and move on quicker. If you show how much you want to be with the characters, they pick up on that and stay longer. Also, you need to speak up. If you feel like someone passed you over, mention it to a CM that you were missed. Chip accidently missed me once (I was 12) and my dad spoke up, soon chip was back and spent a fair amount of time with me to make up for it.

I've always spotted at least one all adult table at every meal I went to. :confused3

This past AUG, we were a party of 3 adult girls at the 1900 Park Faire breakfast in Grand Floridian.

It was wonderful:)

As an adult, if you show enthusiasm for the Characters, they'll show it back!!

We always go to Crystal Palace for breakfast (all adults) and the characters are wonderful with us. The food is good and it is always a must do for us.

We, also, went to Akershus for breakfast last year for breakfast and the princesses were also wonderful with our all adult table. We did not like the food very much but we are glad we went one time.

This year we are going to Crystal Palace for breakfast and 1900 Park Fare for dinner (1st time). We really enjoy the character meals.

It's just DH and I we do the character breakfast at all 4 parks and have loved it every time. We're adults so no we don't need as much time with the characters as the kids do we just want a couple of picks and that's it. What am I going to do with Pooh or Pigglet or whoever? I just let them know we want a couple of pics after that I thank them and they go their merry way. I love to see them interact with the little ones, and I know the little ones can't wait to see them, so why waste time on me. We did the Lilo and Stich breakfast at Ohauna and of course when Lilo came around there wasn't a CM, server, or hostess in sight. I told my DH I wisht we could get our pic together, then Lilo walked off. A couple of seconds later she came back with a server to take our picture together. That was awesome of Lilo. If you want more time with them let them know, if not all you have to do is say thank you and they get the hint. I highly recommend seeing the characters this way.

When DM and I go, we always do character meals! Crystal Palace I think is the best one, the charater interactions are always really great. Last year, Piglet and DM danced, it was so fun! Donald's Safari Breakfast had some great characters too. Donald gave us some heat for wearing a Mickey sweatshirt...we had to tell him the Mickey ones were on sale "because they weren't as popular as the Donald ones, so they were just trying to move product ;)" He seemed satisfied with that explanation :rotfl:

thanks! i will show your answers to dbf. it seems like CP or 1900 park fare would be our best choices.
