Character meal questions

Hello, Forgive me for sounding like a novice (I am first time to disney). I was just on the Disney web sight and was looking up a few restarants that I thought that we might want to eat at. However something caught my eye. Several Charater meal places that I looked up said that there was a $10 per person cancellation/no show fee. Now I knew this was the case for CRT and the Princess brkfst. But I was looking at the Garden Grill and The dinner at 1900 and Crystal Palace. The only one that didn't have that line was Crystal Palace. Now is this because of the charaters that the meals have or is this a new norm for the way disney is setting up the charater meals. I definently want my children to experence these however I also want them to take the lead on pace and don't want to overplan which my DH has allready said is happening. So this would change the set up of thing a little. Thanks for letting me know.

The Disney web site is messed up. The only meals requiring the deposit for now are CRT and the Princess Storybook one (the Fantasmic dinner package and dinner shows like Hoop-de-doo and the luau also need credit card info and cancellation ahead of time). No other PS's need deposits, they don't even take your credit card info when you make the other ones.

At holiday times, they may charge you a reservation fee at almost all the restaurants. We were charged for our breakfast at Boatwrights on Jan 1.
