Do you have to have a table service dining plan to get a character dinner?

No, you don't need to have the dining plan. Certain restaurants are always a character meal, so if you get a reservation for one, then you will get that experience. Is there one you were interested in, or certian charaters? We can help answer any questions.

EDIT: Actually, I should add that some restaurants might only have characters at certain times. Like Topolino's Terace only has characters at Breakfast, but not dinner. That will be made clear on the restaurant pages.

The character meals are all located at table service restaurants.

You do not need a dining plan to eat at one of them.

You can pay out of pocket.

If you have the quick service dining plan you can always pay out of pocket for a table service meal.
Or if you want to get the regular dining plan that does include one table service credit per night then you can go that route as well.

But not need to have any dining plan in order to eat a character meal.
