Thinking about adding additional character breakfast to our upcoming Sept-Oct trip. We have already done CRT and even attending the gala dinner at 1900 Park Fare for this trip. Need a change of pace away from princesses, but unsure what to pick. Want good character interaction for the kids and good food for the adults. Considering Chef Mickeys, Cape May, Ohana, preferably at a resort. What do ya'll think?

My son loves Chef Mickey's and insists that we go back on the next trip. It is obnoxious in the best sort of Disney way, but he loves it. I think it will help if we go a little later for breakfast next time...8:30am was too early after travelling 6 time zones. Enjoy.

We're going to Chef Mickey's for the first time in Sept. From what I've read, almost everyone really likes Chef Mickey's.

I like both Chef Mickey's and Cape May. Another good one is 1900 Park Faire - they have an omlette station in addition to the normal breakfast choices. The characters there (that I can remember) were Pooh, Tigger, Alice, and the Mad Hatter. Mary Poppins was out in the lobby area too.

We are going to Chef Mickey's based on advice I got on here. We are very excited. Can't wait.

We enjoyed Chef Mickey's for breakfast. We had a 10:50 ADR on our last day in Disney World(flew out the next day) and had a great time. The food was good, with a lot of variety and filling(we didn't eat again save snacks until dinner at Rose & Crown for Illuminations). The characters were wonderful. They all came around to visit each table at least once and Mickey, though the main attraction here, was not rushed at all. He came by, posed for pictures(and we had 9 in our group), and continued on to meet his fans. Besides that I recommend any character meal that features Chip & Dale. They are a lot of fun.

We did not have the breakfast meal at Chef Mickey's, but dinner instead----like adrock1976 stated...it is obnoxious in the best sort of Disney way, but we surely did enjoy Crystal Palace for breakfast. Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet made their rounds and paraded through the place. Plus we found the food to be soooo much better than Mickeys. The atmosphere was so bright and relaxing, not cramped, crowded and loud like at Mickeys.
Enjoy---whatever you decide! :)

I personally love Chef Mickey's. The interaction was wonderful and the food was good too. It is the one character breakfast that I have done that felt a lot like a party. We all had a great time. I have done Cape May and let me just say we will never go back there again. The interaction was terrible and the food was cold and stale. I haven't done Ohana's but that is mainly because I can't stand Stitch.

We never miss Chef Michey's or Cape May. They are our 2 most favorite character dining experiences. Both quite different though. In our experiecnes anyway. Chef Mickey's has more character interaction and general craziness and loudness going on, which is both good and bad depending on the person but we happen to love it. But for the better food I would say Cape May. Don't get me wrong, we like Chef Mickey's food just fine but Cape May is just better IMHO. Nice variety and well made. It is defineitely quieter at Cape May. But we are also the ones that are always there when places open for breakfast so it might get louder as the morning goes on. You'll enjoy both of them if you choose between them. I like O'Hanas but not very much so if the choice in between those 3 places I'd eliminate O'Hanas right away.
And I LOVE both Chef M's and Cape M's for dinner! We don't miss either! :cheer2:

We've always gone to Chef Mickey's for breakfast when at WDW. It's good food, pleasant atmosphere and fun characters. DS loved it as a small child and is looking forward to this year's return as an adult. So....fun for all ages.

I made an ADR at Chef Mickey's for our first full day in Disney. I'm sure it will be a fun way to kickstart our trip and fastest way to meet Mickey! Especially for my niece who watches her Mickey DVDs daily.

We have ressies for Chef Mickeys for the first time in June... ressies are at 7:20, and we were instructed by the woman who made our reservations to be there 45 minutes early :sad2:.... I have no idea how Im going to get to teenagers up that early

That is ridiculous...you only need to be there 5-10 minutes early. I have to assume she was encouraging you to allow for ample travel time from your resort to the restaurant. Enjoy.

We went to Chef Mickeys for breakfast in July, 2005, and my daughters loved it. There was alot of character interactions, napkin spinning, etc. We had alot of fun, and we enjoyed the food. We also had our picture taken by photographer that we bought as a remembrance. Have fun. :sunny:

Chef Mickey's is great! My parents used to take me there when I was a kid, and now we take our kids there! They are DS 9 and 5. The character interaction is great, and all the characters get around to your table. The fun part is the napkin twirling! It really is a party atmosphere! The other thing the kids like is the monorail going by right by the restaurant! So cool! I would highly recommend Chef Mickey's for your visit!

I was told to plan on leaving POR 45 minutes early if I was taking the busses.

We are trying Chef Mickeys for breakfast this year. Last year we ate the Concourse Steakhouse next door and heard all of the fun going on so this is a must this coming trip. My husband will flirt with Minnie. I will tell him to watch out because that may be a guy in the minnie costume. Chip and Dale are great- so funny. We caught them at MGM last year for autographs- they are so awesome!!!!!! I can't wait for september to come. After breakfast we will jump on the monorail and go to MK- what a great way to start the day at disney.
