Character Breakfast - best time

I've seen lots of posts where people make a late PS for a character breakfast and treat it as lunch. I think this would work better for my family because we tend to like breakfast foods more than what I've seen on the lunch menu for Crystal Palace. So I made a PS for 10:25 on a non-EMH day which means the park opens at 9 am. Now, what I'm wondering is will we have enough time to get to Fantasyland and get on a few of the rides before we have to head to Crystal Palace? 10:25 was the latest PS available for that day. I actually made it several weeks ago and am still fretting over the decision. Would love to hear other opinions!

With that late of a PS, won't your family have to munch something for breakfast anyway--that could cost you double breakfast that day?
My advice is to settle on a decent time to roll out of bed (I hate early PSs) get ready WITHOUT eating, and get over to MK for breakfast--say 9:15am.

I don't know about your family, but mine would never run long without some fuel in the a.m., so it's best to get the breakfast in first, then head around the park. Plus, DH and I need our coffee! :cool1:

I know everyone has their own personal preferences, but since our kids are up early in the morning anyhow we book early PS's.

We did CRT at 8:00 a.m. three years ago, and it was amazing walking into MK and down Main Street practically all by ourselves! Since it was so early, we also got to ride up front in the monorail, which was a wonderful experience. We are heading back in March 2005 and were lucky enough to get a PS at CRT at 8:05 a.m. - we'll be finished breakfast by 9:00 and out into the park as soon as it opens...can't wait!!

The only time we booked a late character meal was horrible. The restaurant was running behind, we were seated last - half an hour after our PS time (last available, we were there 20 minutes early). And the characters left half way through our meal!

CP may be a better choice, however, because I'd guess they just move from breakfast to lunch. So you don't risk characters leaving.

But to answer your question - I think you'd have plenty of time for a ride or two if you are at the MK at rope drop. We can usually squeeze four short rides into that first hour.

I've never been to MK for its opening "ceremonies" can you do an early PS at Crystal Palace and make it out in time to do that? How early do they usually open? An hour before the park opens?

I'm trying it both ways this trip! CRT at 8;05am and Chef Mickey's at 11:15am. We are using CM's as a brunch. But heck the girls eat lunch at 11:30 anyway!! I'm sure you could fit a few rides in beforehand. Perhaps you could check out availability at Chef Mickey's or CRT (they have extended their breakfast hours) for a later time? Last trip (OK, our only trip!) we had CP at 8:30am on our first day and had that wonderful experience that Mousegirl described. It was really the highlight of a wonderful trip.
