I was wondering if anyone had any different ideas of how to have the characters do my sons autographs??

We have the standard book from his first trip. Then I have 2 creative memories books that I made (disney themed) with the autographs and his pics. One from a trip to WDW and one from the Magic. The 3rd way we have is the pillow case. We were one of the lucky ones to have a pillow case signed last year while on the Magic.

I want to do something different..but am having a hard time coming up with anything. Please tell me if you did anything different. Hubby thinks I am crazy with all of this...but he should know better, even before we had kids, I made him wait in line with me for pics and autographs. I thought he was going to kill me our first trip down!!!

Thanks for your help!!! :earboy2:

a hat...
a shirt....
quilt squares...stretch the fabric out on cardboard before leaving and pull one out with a perm marker or fabric per for them to sign?

I'm thinking of having them sign white sweatshirts or tee shirts on our next trip. My son's 13 now so I think he'll like this idea better than the autograph books.

Now I have to figure our how to get the characters to sign 3 shirts if there are only 2 of us there.

I also need to find farbric markers.

A baseball cap will also be a good idea.

I love autographs, but I am not very creative when it comes to getting them! We use the standard old blue autograph books, though we do put a little clipart of every character on each page. We have four books that we carry with us everywhere at the parks, since you never know who you may run into! :teeth:

Good luck thinking of something! :)

There is a book that is an encyclopedia of Disney characters that you could have them sign. Also, DD got a book of 365 Disney stories for Christmas (hardcover book with Lilo and Stitch on the cover). The characters could sign by their story (though I haven't looked through it enough to see if all of the characters are included).

When my brother was younger, we got him a Pluto. It was stuffed, but not plush/furry...I wanna say almost vinyl-ish, but not vinyl. We had the characters sign the doll. All the characters thought it was great. Mickey and Pluto especially liked it. At Chef Mickey's one morning, I remember Tigger stole Pluto from my brother, then the "real" Pluto came along and a "fight" ensued to get Pluto back. Tigger threw the "autograph" Pluto on the floor and started to "jump" on it. The "real" Pluto fell to the ground and pretending like he was getting jumped on, too. Sounds kinda violent now that I'm writing it, but it was hilarious back then.

I had wondered about somenew ideas, too. We're just starting autographs this next trip.
I had a neat idea at school today..... In a pack of Sharpies I bought there was on extra thrown in that was silver. So I doodled on something dark green and it looked soooo cool! Then I thought, maybe I could make up a book with dark colored construction paper and use this cool silver Sharpie for the autographs. Just a thought to throw in with the rest!

You should have them sign the mat of a picture for the frame. Does that make sense? So you can have their picture and the autograph togther in a frame.

My daughter carried around a shirt ( the characters won't sign it if you're wearing it) and she had them sign it in regular pen. When we got home I traced each autograph with a different color sharpie. It was easier than carrying around all sorts of pens. (I tried to match the color pen with the character..... yellow/pluto, green/buzz, pink/minnie, blue/donald, black/mickey, etc.

It was great for her to wear to school when she got back.

This year I got a Disney shirt with the MK and a bunch of characters on it from the disney store and they'll sign this shirt too!

I like the quilt idea too. You could iron on the pic of the character on the square too.

My dd also has a scrapbook with the autograph and pic of her and the character with it.

Ohhh, I love the matte idea! I was going to suggest a hat. We went in June and DD10 and DS7 each had a hat. DS is fair and had a khaki, "flappy" fishing hat; DD had a white baseball cap. Each came from Wal-Mart...CHEAP! Anyway, I just carried a nice, fat permanent marker around (Sharpie makes nice ones available at Office Max, etc.) and removed the pen cap before handing it to the character. The kids would take off the hats and have the characters sign them. We received many wonderful comments and the kids' loved 'em---great souvenier that they can use all the time. Names never faded or ran in the rain, either!

DW loves the idea from another poster about signing a Dinsey Storybook. She is planning to purchase a Disney Princess Storybook and an Alice in Wonderland Storybook for DD4 to have signed at a character breakfast and the Wonderland Tea Party.

I got spiral bound index cards (multi-colored, 4"x6") so they'll flip like a notebook. The cards can be easily ripped out so that we can place them in our Disney photo album. I got one w/ 2 pockets on each page - i'll put the picture w/ the autograph on each page. hope it works - our first time!

I like the idea of a pillowcase - all you need is a small piece of cardstock to put in the middle for the signature. My daughter has one from a birthday party - all of her friends traced their hands and wrote their names.

Crayola makes good washable fabric markers - you just just put the pillowcase in the dryer for about 30 minutes and it washes like a charm. I have used sharpies but they eventually wash out. Real fabric markers really last - for a pillowcase anyway. A hat I don't imagine you will be wearing so a wash is not an issue.
