Channelling Judy on an iPod!

Grab a cocktail, sit back and imagine Frances Ethel Gumm (Judy Garland) doing a podcast interview of Madonna and discussing current events. You don't have to just imagine it, you can listen to it! I saw this mentioned on the Advocate's website and had to check it out (I'm a big fan of both Judy and Liza) - I've only listened to one episode so far but it's wild! What's really amazing is that it's done by a guy in his 20's who has Judy's voice down pat. Even if you don't have an iPod you should still check it out - you should be able to listen to it in Media Player, Winamp, Quicktime, etc. You can subscribe to it via iTunes or you can go directly to his website:

The creator, "Billyboy" is a friend of mine, and he's a very talented guy. I encourage everyone to listen to his podcast. It's witty, clever, and downright funny.

And how much more wonderful it is to see that yes - great Scott! - there is a Gay and Lesbian Disney forum out there in the ether! Had it not been for your major kudos to my show, I might never have found out about this great place.

Bill - you do a killer Judy and you like Disney?! If you were a woman I would ask you to marry me! This is just too funny. There is no need to thank me, you deserve all the praise - you're an extremely talented guy. I listened to a couple more episodes last night - the 'overweight Balenciaga model' comment was great (can you tell that I have her cds memorized) and the stonehenge bit was very funny.

I always hear that things happen for a reason and I guess this is one of those cases - I'm glad I found your podcasts and I'm glad you found our happy home. We've got a great group of people here and we've been known to discuss non-Disney topics such as Broadway, divas and martinis (you around Viki & Mike?).

Yes, Sue, I'm in the house, working hard all day and long into the night, if I must, to finish off my trip report of our Dec 05 trip to WDW, in an attempt to put this sucker to bed before we take our next trip in SIX weeks!

Viki, I only had to read one post into your most-fabulous-trip-report-I've-ever-read to know that this place is definitely home. And I know this may sound corny, but to see all of the responses from so many GLBT members and their families, I just feel like I've once again come out of the dark. It's interesting, but I always felt so alone over on other Disney boards, including the aforementioned Intercot, and I always felt this underlying homophobia, whether directly stated or not. But here, to see pictures of people with their kids (like you and your partner's two GORGEOUS children), leading normal lives... and yet, are like me... it's just a little overwhelming.

Okay, so that's my sappiness. I'm just so happy to have found this place. And I can't wait to continue reading your excellent thread (I sooo love your humor... it's dry wit that never forgets to ). If I wasn't trying to finish my darn podcast tonight, I'd stay on the boards here 'til bedtime!

And Sue? You're a gay girl after my own heart. Cocktails, Judy, and Disney. I mean... yay!

I echo Bill's sentiments. I haven't been as big of a participant here, but after recent events at Intercot, I too plan to be spending a LOT more time contributing to these forums. I have always appreciated this board, but now it's where I plan to make new friends and have fun!

The key reason I'm coming here more often is this board in particular. The fact that it is here, along with other board categories that demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of all Disney fans, is why I feel welcome to express myself here. It's refreshing not to have to feel I must edit my posts to avoid having someone else on the site object to my honest discussions about my life with my partner and our love of Disney.
