Changing Your Cruise Date Because of Hurricane Matthew?

Last week I had to change my cruise scheduled for January because of my work commitments. Luckily I had not reached my paid in full date and was able to change my cruise to a later date without any penalties. I was a little upset that I had to change my cruise date but a friend had told me that maybe it was a blessing in disguise because of aftermath of Hurricane Matthew and the damage to the various ports. I started to think about the ports and how much they could recover from Hurricane Matthew. I know some ports will be able to recover quickly but what about the others? Have any of you changed or considered changing your upcoming cruises based on the recent hurricane?

We are still going or at least hope to.
We are cruising in one week though, couldn't change it even if we wanted to.

Nope, we are going next week come hell or high water :) unless they actually cancel the cruise. If anything happens weather wise I think our itinerary will change to Canada like the ship did this week.

I'm assuming you are on the Magic out of NYC? At least you know that they can go to Canada.
We are on the fantasy 10/15 so if they cancel it I'm not sure what we'd do.
Stay at wdw hopefully since we'll already be there.
Hope it all goes well for everyone.

Yes, out of NY. I don't think we will have and problems either you or I. There is nothing forming and if it does it will take days. You may lose a port or two but that would be worse case scenario. I hope everything settles down for a while, in the Caribbean.

Still going 10/29 on the Fantasy. Can't wait! The only way we won't go is if our flight or the cruise get cancelled because of a new hurricane.

We e on the 10/15 fantasy too and will be going as long as my flight Friday leaves as planned (the rest of our gang lives near orlando). If something cancels it, I'll probably just end up at food and wine in Epcot lol.

At this point the places DCL visits seem to be mostly okay, with Nassau facing the biggest cleanup. Haiti took the brunt of the storm, although the Labadee area where the cruise ships visit was not area of significant damage.

No not thought once about changing my Disney carribean cruise in Feb. The only thing I have thought is why can't it come quicker

We are on the 10/17 sailing and looking forward to it. My fingers are crossed that we'll get onto CC.
