So I've been living in VA for a while now (5 and a half years counting college) and still have all of my stuff registered in NY.
I'm staying on my parents' insurance until the end of July so an "accident" from 2001 (I swear! it wasn't really my fault!) can be off my record.
But can I change my registration to Virginia without changing my insurance?
Same with my Driver's license- can I get a VA license without having a car insured here? Or registered here? Or wait.. I guess I could have a drivers license without having a car to drive, right?
And do I have to switch my address (residency) with someone else before I can get them to put it on a drivers license?
I'm so confused. I've asked my parents but they don't really know how it works either (they've lived in NY their entire lives).
Anyone know?
