changing reservation

how long can you wait before changing a park reservation?
I have a 5 day ticket and have DL as our last day but am considering changing it to DCA but won't really know until the day before! Is this too late to change it if we want to (assuming there is availability) ??

Assuming availability, you can change anytime.

The thing about changing last minute is that the calendar will show "availability" and that can literally mean there is ONE reservation available, and when you try and make a reservation for multiple people, it shows nothing available. This happens to people all the time. If possible, make up your minds now and make the change now, while there is still time to switch it back if availability isn't there when you go to change it. You don't want to be in this situation on the last day of your trip.

If you are coming soon, reservations have been very booked up for regular park tickets. This wasn’t the case over the summer for October won’t be easy to get a last-minute reservation.

Edited to add, here’s the current park availability as an example. The next available reservation is six days from now and only one park is available.

And remember you would have to cancel your existing park reservations first, and THEN make the new ones. If the new ones aren't available, you may not be able to get your original park back either if they aren't available. You can't "modify" your exisiting reservation or make a new one and then cancel the old one. It's a terrible system IMO.

It really is terrible, so many other reasons too. But I don’t understand why you can’t modify the same way you can with dining reservations.
