Well, I'm at it again. I thought for sure that I had everything set in stone and swore I would not change a thing..............but

We have decided to cancel our Big River Grille PS in exchange for a dinner PS at Kona Cafe.
I have to admit, Forever42's recent desert review of KC really helped me make this decision ::yes::
Plus I have seen alot more positive reviews for KC compared to Big River Grille.

Does anyone know where I can see more interior pictures of Kona Cafe?

Thanks for the compliment! Great decision, by the way. Kona Cafe really is awesome.

Did you see my other two Kona Cafe galleries?

We'll also be going for dinner this Saturday, and I'll try to get the pictures up right afterwards.

During my last Disney trip, we had planned to eat dinner at Downtown Disney, however, it came a huge storm that evening and none of us really wanted to go out. We opted instead, to make a quick PS for the Kona Cafe (we were staying at the Contemporary and were able to hop on the monorail to go over). We were certainly glad we did! The food was some of the best I've had at Disney and our waiter was super friendly. He even talked me into taking dessert back to my hotel when I was too full to eat some there. Not that it was too hard of a sway. LOL

I think you will enjoy Kona. When I return to WDW in September, I definately plan on going there.

Your welcome Forever42 !! I LOVE your reviews and your website is fabulous! I just shared the url with another friend this afternoon :teeth:

I mentioned to my DH that you were going to be having dinner at Kona soon, and that we would get a true dinner review then.He said 'Oh, is this the friend of yours that eats at Disney so much???"
I guess I've talked about you so much, that it seems like it ::yes::

I haven't eaten at Big River, but we have dined at Kona. One observation: At micro breweries around the U.S., I have never heard anyone say "the food was great". Usually I hear rave reviews about the beer:D

BTW, we love KC for breakfast, and the one time we ate there for dinner, we ordered items not on the menu, and the KC staff were terrific.

:earsboy:

I've eaten at both, and you made a very wise choice. The Kona is one of, if not the, best moderate restaurant at WDW IMHO. The Big River is barely, and I mean barely, acceptable.

Great decision...the food at Kona is wonderful and the whole atmosphere beats Big River by a mile! My sons and I walked into BR one January afternoon when it was empty. It looked dirty as well as dingy. After no one approached us for several minutes, we were out of there.

We had dinner last June at the Kona. It was our first time there and we will definitely return. The food was awesome. The service was great. It is a very nice restaurant. One of the hidden gems of WDW.
