Changing names on the title?

I apologize if this isn't the correct forum.

Can anyone here give me some guidance on how to remove my now ex-husband from our contract that I retained in the divorce? We purchased resale back in 2015. I only have 7 payments left, but I would like to have him removed officially. Does anyone know an approximate cost? How long does the process normally take? We now live in separate states, do we have to be together to finalize this process?

Any guidance/advice would be greatly appreciated!

The two parts of this are the loan and the title change

You can use a title company to handle the title transfer…or do it yourself. People have used www.lttransfers.com with good success.

Disney will recommend First American. Before you contact one of them, I’d contact DVC and find out how it works with a mortgage that I assume is in both your names.

They can advise you about that and then how to change title too.

Sandi gave you good advice above. I just wanted to add that both of you will need to sign and notarize documents, but you won’t have to do it together. You can sign separate copies of the same document, and the title company can put them together.
