changing holiday with only 5 weeks to go!

I should be going to California 5 weeks today but because of a change in circumstances I don't think I can go.

I've booked a package with Virgin and was wondering if I can change the whole thing to somewhere else possibly Florida.

I'm not sure if I'm making any sense at the minute my heads full of stuff!

Not sure if you can if it is under 8 weeks without losing your money.

I know in the past we have changed a holiday date and had to pay a fee but not sure with it being this soon before the actual holiday:

If you cancel at 5 weeks you lose 50% see below.
Just read terms for changing and it reads you can change for £25pp but only if its possible, I guess will depend on availability. All you can do is ring and ask.

29-56 days 50%
15-28 days 60%
7-14 days 90%
Less than 7 days 100%

I've been to LA, San Diego and Las Vegas, all without hire car and as young travellers, so please don't be put off going if it's because you've not been before etc. and don;t want to try them as a single adult. All 3 are great cities and have good, safe transport systems.
