Does anyone know where I would stand with DLP with changing our holiday dates at this short notice? The way the doctors/insurance thing is going, we're not going to be allowed to go on Sunday and without a doctors note, we wont get the money back from our insurance company. The only other option I can think of is to change the dates. I don't mind paying an extra charge if it means we wont lose everything we've already paid, but will that be the case at such short notice? Anyone know?

hiya
looked at the back of my letter, and looks like any change to ur booking under 3 days is considered a cancellation - which as u know means loss of all 100%.
if u change the date of arrival - it means that the original booking is cancelled and a new one made, and u wud lose ur money.....
all i can suggest is u try calling and seeing... u never know.
think ur best option is claiming on the insurance and rebooking another holiday...

Thanks that's what I was afraid of. I can't claim on the insurance unless I get a doctors note, which I can't get. Looks like I'm going to lose all the money then :sad2:

I'm sure it won't come to that. Try phoning Disney direct and asking to be put through to customer care. It's worth a try.

Can you not phone the insurance and then get a doctors note

u wont lose ur money - *** ull have a drs note - just on monday.
speak to ur insurance, and explain that u cant go, and know u need a drs note for proof, but u cannot get this due to holidays, and ask if it will be acceptable to get it on monday, and also get the dr to write a letter to accompany it stating that the chicken pox wud have been evident for 'x' many days, and that this was the earliest date u could get to see a dr due to the holidays.
ur not telling lies, or defrauding - ur just in a difficult situation.
wish i cud offer more help...

It is a bad enough situation to be in, without all this added stress. I really feel for you.

As said in a previous thread cant your doctor write a note with todays date on it and then you can give it your insurance company?

My other thought would be for you to go with your other two kids and your DH to fly out with your DD on Tuesday or Wednesday. It would cost a bit extra but it might be better than not going.:confused3 I've pm'd you.

im so sorry this has happened to you. i really hope you can claim back the money

Thanks again everyone. I had just wondered if all else failed if we would be able to change our dates to later on in the month, but that's not an option so that's that out the window.

The insurance company have agreed that a letter from the doctor on Monday will be OK but only if we are not allowed to board the plane on Sunday and get a letter from the airline confirming it. So we wont really know until Sunday if we are going on holiday or not, but hey, it's better than having no holiday and losing all the money, so in my eyes it's a good solution.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get away okay on Sunday as planned :thumbsup2
