Knowing how long immigration can take sometimes, and the fact that we've got to get from Terminal E to A in Logan, is this pushing it? (although I see theres a walkway from E to A).

Paul, I wondered the same about our connection with a 1 hour 30 minute change over. Apparently the airlines can't sell a connection to you that is below a minimum acceptable time frame. That said, we don't appear to have a terminal change. Has the airport got an online map/layout so you can see a bit more clearly where you need to get to and how long that walkway is likely to take?

I suppose it also depends how busy it is when you clear customs, which is the big consideration. I am not worried about ours as there are other flights after we come into EWR, but it was a consideration when I first looked at the flights.

Hi Tiggies,

Looks like theres a walkway between the two terminals and I dont think Logan is that big. From past experience it all depends on how big the queue is at immigration.....

I like to have a bit more time to change planes so you dont have to rush, have time to grab some food etc.

cannot say about Logan, but we went via Chiago with a 2 hour gap till our flight, then it was changed a few months before to a later flight.
I was told an hour through Immigration at Chicago, its as well our flight was changed as it took over 2 hours to get through Chicago immigration then change terminals, boston is not as busy as Chicago i dont think, but then depends what planes have landed before you.

Min connection time i used to sell at virgin was 90 mins

Boston is not a massive airport - also when you fly in, the immigration queue is always less than Orlando as there are not as many flights coming in at once from the UK and also the flights usually have a few Americans on who do not need to go through immigration.

We travelled into Boston this summer. Layover was longer than 90 mins but we did not need it. Got through immigration in 10 mins. Collected cases and then through security/customs in 15 mins. Delta were then waiting for us at the other side to take our cases back of us for onward travel to Orlando.
We were at the gate well within 1 hour of landing :)

Glad to here that it might be easier at Boston.

We've been flying via Newark for past few years and we thought that at first i.e. quieter than Orlando but to be honest EWR is a complete nightmare. Huge queues at immigration, security and miles to walk between gates....

i agree about newark - i don't know why people think it's so easy...
i find it difficult...

perhaps it's easy in comparison to JFK, but that's not saying much..

i've never been through logan ...

Logan is my home airport! Assuming your flight isn't delayed, 90 minutes should be fine. As you said, there's the walkway to Terminal A - if you get confused, just ask someone, we're a friendly bunch in Boston!

Oh please don't say that! We have 1 hour 29 minutes. That trans atlantic flight better land early or on time :rotfl2:

1 hour and 29 minutes where?
in newark or kennnedy?

it's doable at newark, completely impossible at kennedy.

i just don't like newark....and changing terminals was difficult for me....and going up and down and up and down elevators....it was confusing..
but that was because i had to change terminals and i had to drag my luggage with me because i was trying to get an earlier plane (i was flying to houston - this was last august)..

but it's doable.....immigration and customs were fast....and had i given back my luggage it would have been easier....(but i was trying to catch the earlier flight - unfortunately it turned out it was sold out)....

The other thing is also that your flight time on your ticket generally allows for the flight being at it's longest so remember you may actually land earlier than you thought!

Sorry I was talking about Newark. From the flight info I have we don't have a terminal change so I assumed it would be fine. I didn't fancy waiting around the airport an extra hour when I could be at Disney already ;)

My brother works for TSA in terminal E at Logan... he says you'll be just fine!:goodvibes

Ooh. Dont want to worry you but we've always had real problems at EWR. Huge queues at immigration and security...

How far is it to walk?

Thanks. No point worrying about it. If we don't make our connection they will just have to put us on the next avaiable flight out. It would be annoying but not the end of the world I suppose. :)

exactly - happened to us at kennedy....
there wasn't even another flight at kennedy, so they put us onto a gigantic bus DD and me and another woman and her son (th 4 of us on this big empty bus), and raced us over to la guardia for the last flight out to orlando....

when we got to la guardia the driver said we'd been very lucky - he had been sure there was no way we'd make the plane but he hadn't said anything..

the 4 of us did one of those mad dashes through the airport and were the last 4 into the plane before the door closed - actually i think they were holding it for us..

of course, our luggage didn't arrive with us - it came in the next day, delivered to our hotel (WL)....it was in our room when we got back from the park...fortunately, we'd had a change of clothes in our carry on...
