Here's what I have booked...
October 19
October 20-23
October 24-27
All three of these stays are in the same room/category, a standard studio at AKV-Jambo, which is mostly unavailable at this point. This was (semi)intentional except the night of the 26th was supposed to be kept separate as well, but it was waitlisted and when it filled, MS automatically merged it with the 24-26 reservation. The reason I had kept them separate was because 1) we weren't 100% sure which day we were arriving (19 or 20) and 2) we wanted to do a 3/3 split with another resort and I wanted to be able to cancel only part of the trip online without having to call in. I knew that the studios at Jambo would book up quickly for October so I wanted to book what I could, knowing that I could always cancel when my plans were more firm.
Now that we are coming up on our 7-month window, we've solidified our dates. We will be arriving on the 19th and departing on the 26th. That means I need to cancel the night of the 26th off of the third reservation. What I would like to do is book our first three nights (19-22) at OKW and leave the remaining nights (22-26) at AKV. I have enough points to make that reservation online without having to cancel any of the existing reservations so I plan to do that right at 8am.
In order to "simplify" it and not risk anything being treated as a cancel and rebook, would the best plan of attack be to first cancel the single night reservation and then have MS combine the other two into a single, 7-night reservation? Then, it could be modified by dropping the first two nights and the last night, correct? Does that make sense? Am I missing something? I just want to make sure that I do NOT lose that studio at Jambo house. It's been "sold out" for a long time and I wouldn't get it back if something were to go awry.
