Changing Areas?

Where in the world ( ) can I find a place to change my 4 year old's diaper while we're in the parks? He needs to lay down for the change. Would the First Aid stations allow it, or is there a better place?

Thanks!

Julia

I'm not sure the baby area will work. He's too long for a baby sized changing table and he's immune deficient, so there's no way to put him on the ground. Usually, I just change him in the back of our SUV if we're out and about, but we're flying to Disney, and the parking lots are too far away anyway.

Thanks though.

Hi there!

I asked just about the same question not too long ago and the suggestion was that the First Aid Stations would allow this.

There are also changing counters in the restrooms - bring cleaning wipes if you need to - and your own changing pad, etc. If I remember correctly (it's been over a decade since I had to deal with diapers!) the counters are pretty long.

I started writing last night, but got interrupted putting DD to bed and didn't get back on.
You have a couple of options:
The changing tables in most of the restrooms are actual counters, about counter height (34-35 inches from the ground). They are sturdy counters made of stainless steel or tile, so you could disinfect them easily before you use them. They are at least 36-40 inches long, some longer than others. Some of the smaller restrooms don't have a changing table, but the large ones do.

Some of the Companion Restrooms have the same type of changing counters as the regular restrooms. Some of the Companion Restrooms are not that large and don't have one.

First Aid might be your best choice. They have individual rooms or cubicles with low cots that are upholstered with vinyl (easily cleaned).
If the cots are too low (hard on your back), they also have doctor's office type exam rooms with higher tables, many of which can be raised or lowered to your needs.

The first aid stations are wonderful for this. They were so friendly and professional, they even asked us whether the cot or a room by its self would be better for our needs and privacy. I know it is stressful worrying about these things, but there is nothing to worry about at Disney. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Thanks for asking about this. We've been trying to master the "stand up change" but not much luck, LOL!

This is a picture of one of the rooms with cots in First Aid. Some of the rooms have one cot, rather than 2.
I don't have a picture of the exam type tables, but those would be a better choice if these cots are too low for you.
