Changing area for large child

I have a friend who is traveling with her 6 yr old with CP and who is still in diapers. Where can she change her son besides the Baby Care/First Aid centers? Thanks!

For us the baby care centers were the most ideal. There are some bathrooms that have a large table like changing area but I found them too high to lift my 6yo when changing him.

If she can change him while he stands or in his wheelchair/stroller the handicapped stalls in many of the bathrooms are huge and we easily fit a Maclaren Major stroller in them plus a pooh sized mom.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. We really used the Baby Centers and first aid stations when having to change DS. They were very comfortable and air conditioned and the staff in them were very helpful and friendly. I think it would be worth it to just plan on circling around to them on occasion to change him.

The best bet would actually be First Aid in each park. They have cots you can use for that which are private and would be lower to lift the child up to

I collected information on Companion Restrooms in all the parks, specificaaly looking for and measuring any changing tables. The ones in MK would not work, but some of the Epcot ones may. There is more information with pictures of the Epcot ones in the EPCOT FAQs thread near the top of this board

I use the first aid all the time to change my almost 12 year old. They are extremely helpful at first aid and it is a really nice quite place to take a break and easily change a diaper. Thye always offer either a high table or a low bed which ever would be easier.

Here's a picture of the changing table in one of the Companion Restrooms in Epcot. This is one of the largest changing tables; most of the rest are smaller.

And, this is one of the low cots at First Aid (Studio). There are also high cots and cots that have adjustable height:

We find First Aid are by far the most convenient, well equipped and most pleasant locations for changing. Staff are so helpful and everything is spotlessly clean.

It depends on how big he is. Several years ago, I took my former (then) 6 yr. old stepson to Disney and he wore diapers. I was able to change him in most of the public restrooms because many of them have fairly large metal changing counters, not the traditional "fold out" style changing tables. He was smaller for his age (he only weighed about 38 lbs) but even so, there would have been ample room for a bigger child. The Magic Kingdom has fewer of these larger changing tables than the other parks, but I know that there is one in the bathroom by guest relations, one larger table in the bathroom by Casey's hotdogs, and one large table over in the "Ariel's Grotto" area bathrooms.

DHS has for sure at least one very large changing table in the bathroom by the Stunt Show. Also, I believe the companion bathroom around the corner from Star Tours has a larger changing table (not all companion bathrooms have changing tables).

Epcot has a good number of larger changing tables and most of the companion restrooms have changing tables, though some are smaller than others.

Animal Kingdom is the same way -though I know for sure there is a very large changing table in the companion restroom near "Everest".

I have an almost 6 yr old in diapers and found we had room to spare on most on the changing tables. she is light weight though and i would think it would be more a case of trouble lifting than the actual size of them.
